Billy Bush of Access Hollywood garnered an exclusive interview with Kate during her daily dance rehearsal. Interesting revelation – Kate shared that her sister is babysitting the kids during Kate’s time away in LA for DWTS this week.
Kate and Tony were totally charming during the interview, in my opinion. I thought it was interesting that Kate shared that her sister is watching over the “eight little Brunos.” I guess Kate does stay in contact with family members who don’t start hate blogs against her. She also admitted that she has a hard time keeping her concentration and smiling at the same time. Tony Dovolani is very sweet during the interview – he steps in to say that many others have the same problem (I am not surprised).
Cutest moment – Tony and Billy helping Kate on with her strappy dance shoes. Kate (never at a loss for words) suggests that she needs a foot message!

Great interview. Kate looks great, relaxed and happy. I am becoming a big fan of Tonys. Glad her sister is helping her out.

I loved that interview! Kate looks more relaxed dancing. I remember one of the times that Kate was on The View she wore some earrings that her sister made. Interesting that she’s there helping out w/the kids.

I thought the same thing girls! Why does she need to line up sitters- they have a father. Great interview- Tony is funny and I like them together.
That was a cute interview, and that is how Kate needs to be on the show. I hope she is over her “opening night” jitters and will be more relaxed next week. I can’t reconcile reports of her being rude, diva-ish, standoffish, with her demeanor on that clip. She’s not that good an actress to be able to pull that off.
DWTS had the biggest premiere it’s ever had. Maybe some of those people who “refused” to watch Kate had some of those pesky cats and kids and remote controls that happen to turn to the network they are avoiding.
Why can’t Kate put on her own shoes,does everybody have to wait on her???????????????

Boots – I have had others help me put on strappy shoes that have those darn little holes. They aren’t that easy to get on! I am pretty sure it was a “bit” anyway for the cameras.
I have a real problem with you referring to children as a “litter.” I am sorry, I just think that is a very ugly way to refer to human beings that happen to be multiples.
You are, of course, entitled to your opinion that Kate has no talent. Others (like TV executives) appear to disagree.

Kate seems so refreshed in this interview. It’s great to see her laugh & she did some fancy footwork there! Go Kate!
Someone needs to ask Kate why she lies so much=in one interview she said her (chilren )were asleep in this one they all watched.Which is it awake or asleep?She needs to get her tails straight.She smiling because she don’t have to raise her (children).

Tails? I don’t see Kate wearing any tails? As for lies – in the interview that some claim she said the kids didn’t watch because it was too late; she actually said she didn’t call them because it was too late. Presumably she would have to wait until after the show to call and who knows what they require immediately the dancers to do immediately after the show. My understanding from the two interviews is that kids watched Kate and then went off to bed. By the time she called call them Monday night, it was too late. No big lie – just people trying to put the worst spin on everything Kate says.

Or she is smiling because she has found a way to support her family and keep her kids in their home and private school. You have no idea why Kate is smiling – but again you seem to want to put the worst spin on it.
There were pictures of Jon in Santa Barabara over the weekend – Perez Hilton had one picture of him there.
There are also reports that his new girlfriend broke up with him.

anyway, i loved the clip! this is how i think of kate. she was so funny. now i’m not saying i think she is always this way. she gets mad and frustrated just as we all do but we have seen her in all her moods and i think it’s great that she still can laugh and have fun despite all the horrible things written about her.
and she looks to have learned to loosen up. she had some fancy footwork going on there. next week ought to be fun to watch!
I know I haven’t commented on the Gosselin’s for a couple of months but after watching this video and some others. Good for Kate to keep her head held high. I’m glad she’s having some fun!!

Paige, Really? Thanks for the update on Jon. I wonder if it’s true if his gf broke up w/him. It’s certainly believable. Where will Jon live now? Jon Jon Jon. (shakes head). If he’s just going to hang out, it would be nice to see him settle near the kids to be more accessible.

Maybe, Boots, Kate gives two version to keep you on your toes! I would think if you were out in Calif. and your kids were home in Pa., you would keep that 3 hour time difference in the back of your head and hesitate before you would call and wake the kids up on a school night.
As far as “raising” her kids, I, as a working mom, have taken many hits from my friends who do not work and stay home to “raise” their kids (alone while their husbands are never home). No one but me and my husband raised our kids. Yes, we were both working parents, but make no mistake, our children were raised by us. I think Boots believes Kate has to be in the same room, in the same state, 24/7 (while the husband is? where?) in order to properly raise her kids, which is utter nonsense.That is the problem with people like Boots, they believe everyone must do what they do which, of course, is always the right thing to do.
I just stumbled onto that Khater site…. ewww, boy are they just plain mean people. I can’t believe that site is still holding together all for the sake of hate of Kate. It seems like a lot of energy to write poems for someone they claim to hate.
Anyway…… I thought the interview showed a happy Kate. It looks like maybe she might have found some moves she might be able to do better. I hope her “gitters” are over. She looked like she was having fun. I may be naive but I don’t find her fake….. she shines when she smile and that you can’t fake.

Kat, better to be naive (which I don’t think we are) than full of anger and always looking to point out lies that don’t exist or take pleasure in other’s misfortune. That’s the definition of a sad person to me.
I’m no fan of Billy Bush (he’s so smarmy), but that was a good interview. I agree – those strappy heels can be hard to put on and I wouldn’t mind some help if I were Kate!
Yes, Brenda, I agree – some people just can’t see past their way of doing things. Every other way is the wrong way and will inevitably lead to disaster and tragedy. I think it’s great that Kate’s sister is there spending time with her nieces and nephews.
I heard about Jon’s girlfriend dumping him. Sigh. Poor Jon. He still seems so lost. I think he’s been quite a jerk in the past year or so but I still want him to get it together.
I think Jon needs to be kept busy to be the best person he can be. Probably needs a job where he is needed, which hmmm is kinda like parenthood. Oh well, I am hopeful he will get it figured out one of these days.
Thank goodness someone did an actual decent interview w/Kate. This is the first time ever that I saw the natural side of Kate. She was relaxed and seemed to enjoy being interviewed. I know in the past I have been down on Kate but maybe this experience will give her more confidence. She also looked natural in the few dance steps that I saw her in. Hopefully she will bring this to the stage on Monday to shut up and stop the media hate frenzy regarding her. If she proves legit than more power to her. I’m not a huge Kate fan but get sick of all the negativity surrounding her. I think it is helping her also that she is staying in LA. I know she is a “bad Mom” for leaving her kids, but I am so glad to hear that one of her sisters is staying with the kids. I’m kinda hoping she doesn’t tank on Mon after all the media backlash last week. Jon should definitely be there with his kids but is still unreliable.
If she keeps up this side of her I will enjoy DWTS on Monday night.

Anya, thanks for defending those of us from big families against the hateful description “litter of children.” The hater sites I have read are famous for declaring that they do not criticize the children while permitting lots of these offensive terms to be used about the children, as if they are animals. I’m one of eight children. In my experience, most people are generous when they comment about the size of a big family (“Your mom and dad are so LUCKY!”) but occasionally one of these mean-spirited people would be disrespectful. I used to want to kick that person in the shins. I still do.
Great interview! I’ve always loved Tony, and Kate seemed really fun in this interview. I never watched her show, so I really don’t know much about her. I’m sick of all the hate/bashing toward her.

Since this is one of those places where we can throw in our two cents without getting mauled to death if our comments are something positive about Kate (except for the occasional Khater passer by), I wanted to mention something that I’ve been considering all week.
I would venture to guess that maybe the reason they have seen “record breaking” high ratings for the DWTS opening night premiere is BECAUSE Kate is a member of the cast. I believe that there are a lot more of us Moms out there that relate to Kate in a positive way and hope to see her improve and do well than the haters would ever admit.
Also, as many have noted, Kate is truly the ONLY person in that line-up that is not an entertainer with experience in that type of forum. That said, I thought that she looked tons more relaxed in the Access Hollywood/Billy Bush interview and look very forward to watching and voting for Kate this week.
Boots, I agree with those that felt your comments of her babies being ”a litter” was really inappropriate. Each of of those eight precious children are blessings from God and IMO will continue to shine as they get older because their mother has instilled in them what it takes to be hard workers with character, loyalty and integrity even when life gets difficult.
I thought interview went great , I also thought it was the most natural interview that Kate has given. She was having fun and joking around and was even laughing about the dating part. Tony is a sweetheart also, they really seem to make a good team. Her dance steps looked a little more polished in the clip hopefully this will keep her on for a few more weeks.
Jacquelyn - I just wanted to point out that Jake from the bachelor and Buzz Aldrin are also not entertainers, not just Kate. Jake had a reality show but so did kate. And kate has a had a lot of experience in public speaking, hosting the view, etc so she is not being thrown out there for the first time.

You are right about Buzz and Jake not being entertainers; however, I just felt that Kate seemed to be a little more vulnerable in the “spotlight” than all of the others. I realize she’s done public speaking, interviews and The View, but this is way out of that spectrum. Even the judge Carrie gave Kate kudos for basically being the only one that is not familiar with this type of entertainment. Just my opinion…nothing more, nothing less!
Again, I give her an A for effort and am excited about watching this weeks’ show.
I guess we’ll all see what the general public thinks when the votes are counted and announced.

Jacquelyn, I agree that a lot of women identify with Kate and want to see her do well. I also think that others are astounded by the hate toward her, and feel sympathy, even if they can’t relate. I have found Kate irritating on the show, but I never understood the level of hate toward her. I include the nitpicking at every single thing she does or decision she makes, just because she was disrespectful to Jon on occasion. It’s just insane.
Jacquelyn, sorry you haven’t been feeling well. I hope that is temporary.
I totally agree that DWTS’s record high numbers are partly due to interest in Kate. I don’t think we are alone in this belief, objective observers and even the random Kate detractor have suggested the same. It will be interesting to see how long Kate stays around and how the ratings are influenced when she does finally go.
As much as I’d love a Kate and Nicole or Evan or Chad final, I think that is a bit much to hope for!

The word is “tales” as in story, not “tails” as in twist the cat’s. And come on, “She smiling because she don’t have to raise her (children).” is the most atrocious grammer. Didn’t you go to school? Don’t you know that a sentence has to have a verb? Did you never learn the proper use of don’t and doesn’t? It’s embarrassing to watch you parade your ignorance around, like you had enough wit to form a valid opinion.
