We started reading Friday Night Knitting Club this week and wanted to know how everyone is progressing with this selection. Have you started reading yet? What chapter or page are you on? What character do you like or relate to the most so far in this selection?”
We will post some questions for discussion in the next several days.
Make sure you check out Anya’s book review on “Searching for Blue Mercury.”
You can purchase this book and the Friday Night Knitting Club in our Imperfect Women’s Book Club Store.

I have started reading this book and I am enjoying it. I can’t say that I am that far into it today but I will get quite a bit of it read tomorrow. So far, I am really liking Anita.
I just love looking at the cover of the book. LOL. I use to knit many years ago and I brought all of my mom’s knitting needles back with me after visiting her one summer. Sadly, I have not picked them up. Maybe I will after I finish this book.
Hi. I am about 110 pages into the book.
I want “an Anita” in my life! A kind person who is in your corner…..
I am liking Lucie too and getting into her story a bit.
The cover is beautiful. The novel does make me want to get into knitting, but I am not sure I have the patience for it. I’d love to be able to knit the beautiful pieces Georgia does, however. That would be awesome.
I’m about 160 pages in. I am intrigued by some of the characters but a bit distracted by the writing – the author employs a lot of (confusing, IMO) POV shifts. I’m curious to see where the story is going.
I wish I could learn to knit! It seems like it’d be a very soothing activity.
After I finished the book I picked up my knitting needles and made the scarf. It was the first project I had worked on in ages.My knitting skills are not the greatest, I would much rather crochet. Jennie I agree about the POV I found it confusing also. It took some getting use too.
The cover… the beautiful yarn and all the possibilities. Kind of like life.
Well, I’ve finished the book. Anyone else? I don’t want to say too much in case it spoils the book for anyone.
I am still working on it, Jennie. Hope to finish it over the weekend. Anyone else? I think we have discussion questions also coming up.
Pam, about 11 pages left. I think I’ll wait until tomorrow to finish.
I can help with discussion questions.
Kind of sad and uplifting at the same time. I won’t say more.
Oh, I got ANOTHER late start on the book club selection. I am only the first third in. POV remarks are spot on, Jennie. It makes it tough at first.
I can knit a bit, but not like my sister. She’s phenomenal. She knits constantly and her daughter is the beneficiary of most of her things. She makes herself clothing to (and others!) My favorite are the socks she knits. They are welcome wardrobe additions in winter.
