Board Games Can Be A Great Family Hobby

Board games have provided family fun for thousands of years. Besides having a fun time, playing board games can help a family bond and the interaction can help family members get to know one another better. Children can also learn or practice skills such as counting, eye-hand coordination, reading and dexterity. They also can learn about healthy competition and how to focus their attention.

A Crafty Confession
By CraftyMomof3

I have a confession. I am a hoarder. Not the kind of hoarder you see on tv (but if you ask my husband, he might have a different opinion). I am a hoarder of ALL things crafty.

We got our first digital camera over 10 years ago. I loved digital cameras from the start because I could see immediately if I got the picture I wanted. With the viewing screen and garbage can icon, I could delete all the lousy photos I took. I would never again pay to have a grainy images of my thumb developed.

Christmas Decorating Finds Right In Your Own Home

By Nancy

Each year, right around Thanksgiving, I begin thinking about unpacking all the Christmas decorations. Boxes and bags filled with wreaths, Santas, nativity sets, candles, beads, ornaments and strings of lights. I also wonder what I can do differently with my Christmas décor. I’m very sentimental and feel the need to put everything I own (that screams Christmas) out.

It’s Cookie Time!

Written by Ann

Sugar cutouts, nut tossies, chocolate chip, oatmeal lacies, it’s the most wonderful time of the year! Nothing tempts me more than the treats my mother bakes at Christmas. For over fifty years, Mom has baked dozens and dozens and dozens of Christmas cookies in several varieties to satisfy her big family.

FAVORITE THANKSGIVING RECIPES

By Jennie

I love to cook. I don’t often have the time to try new recipes or make some of my more complicated favorites, though; other duties interfere and most nights I end up making quick and simple dishes. Which is fine, but I welcome the holidays as a time to cook a bit more elaborate fare.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, about 250 million turkeys, 709 million pounds of cranberries and 1.8 billion pounds of sweet potatoes will be served at Thanksgiving dinner’s this year. Regardless of how much is served for dinner, guests are bound to be hungry Thanksgiving morning. They need the perfect meal to hold them over until the main feast.

Start Simple!

My biggest piece of advice would be to START SIMPLE! Your first trip to the scrapbook store, or even down the scrapbook aisle at Target, can be overwhelming. Papers, punches, borders, the options are never ending! Stickers, brads, threads, embellishments galore!

Evolution of A Crafter

Written by CraftyMomof3

I am a mom of three. One of my favorite things to do “pre-babies” was mindlessly wander around any craft or stationary supply store I could find- for hours at a time. I would buy things that I had no purpose for because they were cute!

There’s No Hushin’ Honey

It’s been a while since I’ve contributed to this site. I apologize for that. Summer time is busy! I hope y’all enjoyed a pleasant Summer with the kiddos home from school. I was always glad to have them home and relieved to see them go back to school. I told y’all last time that after talking about all that work, I would tell you about some of the fun stuff.
