Winter Olympics Update: Winning, Whining and a Naughty Photo

by Jennie

We’re into week two of the Vancouver Olympics and events are moving at a brisk clip – less than a week and it’ll all be over for another four years! Finland’s Teemu Selanne became the all-time Olympic hockey points leader while playing with a broken jaw (hockey players are tough!). Slovakia won its first gold medal in the Winter Olympics ever, in the biathalon.

2009: A YEAR IN SPORTS

By Jeff

The year 2009 created more ink for newspapers, more keystrokes for the internet and more conversation off the field than on. Tiger, steroids, Brett Favre, Michael Phelps and Andre Aggasi created non-field issues that rivaled anything done on the field. However, I want to focus on the field.

On The Team

By Gwen

My son is trying out for the school basketball team. He’s in the 8th grade, has played basketball for 7 years, off an on, for different leagues. He is nearly 6 feet tall, skinny as a rail, and the kid can play. I know, I’m his mother, but I really wouldn’t encourage him as much as I do unless I knew he had skills.
