Jennifer Lopez spent New Year’s Eve in Times Square singing and dancing in a skin tight shimmering body suit. In a unitard bedecked with sparkles that showed off a nearly flawless physique, she rung in the New Year with her new single “Louboutins,” from her first album since giving birth to twins Max and Emme in 2008.
The look was designed by stylist Paula Bradley and had even Jennifer asking “Do you think it’s too much?” according to her longtime makeup artist Scott Barnes. Barnes finished her look by highlighting her eyes with smoky makeup including charcoal eyeliner, several coats of mascara and Swarovski crystals sprinkled over her lids.
The reaction to Jennifer’s outfit was varied with one person who wrote on their Twitter account that the outfit “made her look like some kind of weird naked barbie doll ” and another indicating that it looked like “elephant skin.” It was 10 years ago that Lopez made tongues wag when she wore that infamous navel-plunging Versace to the 2000 Grammys.
What do you think of Jennifer’s look?

She’s in her 40s and gave birth to twins less than 2 years ago. If I had that body, I’d rock the unitard too!!
My kids and I watched her performance during the whole ball drop. While we aren’t fans of her music (or her acting, for that matter) I’ve seen much worse in the wardrobe department (can we say Lady Gaga?!) Wearing something lo-cut or otherwise revealing was totally out since it was like freezing sub-zero temps. So when you can’t go that route, you go form-fitting/skin-tight. I’d rather see an outfit like this than boobs hanging out and mini-skirts so high that you can tell what kind of underwear the performer is (or isn’t!) wearing.
Wasn’t a fan. I’ve seen worse but next time I think she should listen to her instincts. The hair cape-let was a little scary too. Although Ryan Seacrest sure seemed to be a fan.
I don’t think it was too much, I just don’t think it was very flattering. Her rear looks kinda squashed and droopy in that second picture.
I didn’t mind her outfit at all. She has a great figure and she looks fantastic in that outfit.
I thought she look good I am not a big fan of her but the way I look at it if you can work it you can own it
I am not a fan either. I don’t think it’s indecent, but there’s no style about it. Where’s the flash? I think a belly chain would have been nice and silver beads hanging in her hair. Something else, because I agree w/the Barbie doll look and add Kiki’s comment that she looks squashed. But whatever, there’s a lot of overthetop outfits the stars wear that I don’t care for. None of them can really top the combination of sexy outfits that Cher has worn from the 70’s on. Bob Mackie made her the queen of that category.
I pretty much agree with the consensus – she looks good for being 40 and having had babies, but it’s not my idea of a truly stunning and sexy outfit.
I think she probably got what she wanted out of it – we (along with many others) are still talking about it almost a week later!
I thought it was totally ugly. I also thought she and Marc Anthony were acting VERY weird (maybe had a few too many drinky-poos) when they were doing the countdown with Ryan Seacrest.
I thought her body looked great. I wasn’t a big fan of the outfit and I did see other pictures that did show all of the extra material in multiple folds and that looked kind of funny.
I don’t like it. There’s something about a bodysuit that I find unflattering no matter how great a body one has. At least when it’s a bodysuit worn for the purposes of being sexy and daring. She looks trashy to me.
Jennifer Lopez has a fantastic figure and that outfit did nothing to show it off, it made her butt and boobs look squished, I don’t think she looks trashy, she just looks freaky, she reminded me of some weird mannequins I’ve seen in store windows. She is such a shapely woman, I have no idea what possessed her to wear something that did not accentuate her positives.
I was going to say if she felt comfortable in it that is all that matters, but obviously she didn’t feel comfortable in it if she was asking for validation. I wonder why she did it?
