I must give credit to IW’s own Pam for coming up with the title for this week’s episode thread.(Kate was saved from elimination in week four and will be dancing the Fox Trot this week!)
So much to report it is hard to know where to start. How about with the positive? Kate showed marked improvement with her tango last week. Not only was she more technically proficient, but she actually didn’t look petrified. She kinda sorta almost looked like she was having fun! And for those of us who have been rooting for her, it made for enjoyable viewing. Kate garnered the lowest score, but only one point lower than Aiden. I might note that Kate’s scores would have matched Aiden’s, if Carrie Ann -aka the Lift Nazi (not sure who originated that name, but I love it) hadn’t witnessed one of the imaginary lifts that only Carrie Ann notices and marked Kate and Tony down a point. Anyway, it didn’t matter, because Kate was safe again thanks to viewer support – and that includes many of you!
Why even Maks had nice things to say about Kate’s performance last week in his weekly blog for TV Guide. “Kate did much better this week. The scores didn’t really reflect that per se, but it was definitely a better performance. She’s very foot heavy still, but there were more instances where you could tell she was enjoying herself. I’m hoping to see more of that. Her facial expressions were a little more relaxed. By facial expression, I don’t mean in a real-life way. Like I’ve said before, success is 50 percent technique and 50 percent presentation. She has to present the mood and the character. If the mood changes and she enjoys herself more and more, she will get better.”
Some have suggested Maks doesn’t like Kate. This is based on a couple of videos floating around – one with Maks rolling his eyes at the mention of her name. I mentioned this to Ann@IW and she offered an astute observation I hadn’t considered. Perhaps Maks doesn’t have a problem with Kate, The Person, but is annoyed at all the hullabaloo surrounding her participation this season. And that is completely understandable. The thing is – none of that is Kate’s fault. In fact, I give at least 80% of the credit to Kate’s detractors. They continue to feed the Kate Buzz daily on the internet and that fuels the media machine to some degree.
So enough about last week, let’s look ahead to Monday night. Thanks to the blog, Puredwts.com, we have the lowdown on the expected dances and some insight into the likely musical numbers. Remember, this is Movie Week on DWTS.
-Kate/Tony – Fox Trot. Kate says they are dancing to a song from an 80’s movie. Speculation is it might be “The Breakfast Club.” I am excited to see what Kate and Tony bring. I know it has been an exhausting week for them both.
Erin/Maks – Jive. Word is “Pulp Fiction” will be their movie. I am running through the possible song choices. Can’t wait to see this.
Evan/Anna – Rumba. Might possibly be dancing to a romantic song from an action movie.
-Jake/Chelsie – Cha Cha. Rumors are they are dancing to “Risky Business.” If that is true, the song must be “Old Time Rock And Roll.” Interesting.
-Niecy/Louis – Jive. Dancing to “La Bamba.” Not sure if it is the title song or not.
Nicole/Derek – Tango. Chitchat indicates “Pretty Woman” will be the movie they will dance to. No definitive word on the song selection, however.
Pam/Damian and Chad/Cheryl. Quickstep. No additional details available at this time.
Once again, I don’t think I need to remind anyone that Kate needs our votes. And help has arrived from unexpected quarters. The supremely unfunny late-night host, George Lopez, has decided to hop on the Kate publicity bandwagon and has created a campaign and website to urge his viewers to vote for Kate. “Times are tough, but when we see that, we feel better about ourselves!” Oh, George you are hilarious. You obviously belong to the school of comedy that likes to pick on the shortcomings of others. Kind of a male Joan Rivers, perhaps? You know what else is funny??? The fact that you owe your career to Sandra Bullock, not to your talent. (We already know Sandy doesn’t have the best taste in men).
But a vote is a vote – right? I am sure a few of Lopez’s minuscule audience members will follow along with ‘the joke’ and vote for Kate, so no harm is really being done. End of rant.
Back to the positive, let’s keep Kate another week and allow her to showcase yet more improvement. Vote away!

Okay another Monday night that I have to work and miss the show, so I am counting on you ladies to update me until I can watch it tomorrow. Hubby and I will cast all our votes and then do the online thing when I get home. I hope she continues to improve and really nails it this week. The George Lopez spot was cute and she might get some votes out of it:) I don’t watch him, his voice is like Rachel Rays kinda loud and scratchy:) I hope her costume is like last week it complimented her body and the make-up was tastefully done. I not a fan of red lipstick, I didn’t care for Erin make-up last week either. I was wondering if anyone has seen the results of her book sales for the first week ? Or is it to early since it was released on a Tuesday?
I’m really excited about the more upbeat tempo type dances, the slow dances are boring to me. Hope Kate does well tonight, she made such an improvement last week, will be fantastic if she can keep that momentum going for this week as well. And as always- excited to see Jake dance
FYI, I was able to cast my votes via cell & land line phones about 4 minutes prior to the start of DWTS starting approx 7:56 EST.
Kate on Joy Behar last week said she would probably last only another coupla wks if that long. Does she think we are going to abandon her? Come on, Kates Army, let’s make her proud and keep her & Tony dancing. Maybe, just maybe, she doesn’t realize what strong advocates we are for her and the 8.

I agree. Some women w/the right coloring can pull it off, but I thought Erin looked a little over made up last week – similar to Kate the previous week. They are both pretty women. Less is often more.
I was wondering if anyone has seen the results of her book sales for the first week ? Or is it to early since it was released on a Tuesday? – Diane
Diane I poked around to see what I could find. I ended up on Barnes&Noble.com. Kate’s book was currently ranked 282. I don’t really know if that is considered “good” or “bad.” I would think sales would pick up for Mother’s Day. It might not be another bestseller, but if it performs solidly, I would think Kate and her publisher will be pleased. Also, just to put things in perspective Duane “Dog” Chapman (another reality star) released a book a couple weeks before Kate and Barnes&Noble had that listed at 8,094. 282 doesn’t sound bad in comparison.
I just saw on Radar online pictures of Kate and the kids at Disneyland on Saturday. I bet the kids will be there tonight!!!!
Sorry Guys, I have to disagree with all you Kate Fans.. This is a Dancing Contest, not a popularity contest.. She is horrible and needs to be booted off. Along with Pamela Anderson..I think Kate’s fakey & wants people to feel sorry for her to get votes.. I guess its working!!! Just my thought!!!
I’d Rather Poke My Eye Out, me too about the more upbeat dancing. The rumbas were boring to me last week.

I can’t see them sitting in the audience that long, maybe they’ll have a playroom w/a monitor. I read on People today that Kate said this is the first thing she’s done that her kids care about. I can see that. Hope she does well!

Anya, Great info. I’m not sure what to think about Maks. It did seem like he was disgusted hullabaloo about the hoopla, only because I doubt he would be so openly rude and has said some nice things about her. Ech, I don’t care. Not everyone is going to like everyone. I’ve enjoyed the positive press Kate has rec’d. There have been so many ugly things written about her in the tabloids, she is due some kindness.

I have become less critical watching this show (not that I know anything about dance except in my own my own mind). I had a different pic in my head and it’s not like the work for weeks and weeks on one dance. They work so hard.
I thought she did a good job.

They had a lot of cute disagreements for their clips. I thought she did great. I like her. I thought the dance she did before while blindfolded was kind of awesome. They were dressed like Jon and Uma from Pulp Fiction. I have to share my fav funny Pulp Fiction video.

Wow, I thought he was great. They danced to Old Time Rock & Roll and he started out in his undies.
Maybe we’ll see the kids when Kate dances. Okay, I got it. Kate looks medieval – like Maid Marion.
Now I am really confused Maid Marion? Not relating that to the Breakfast Club. So far I have not seen the kids when they are scanning the audience.Gosh I am glad I came home even tho I am hurting here but the heat pack is working !!!!!!!!!

No kids yet. She looks exhausted in the clips. Tony says she has no motivation and it gets exhausting for him.
She looked stiff and the steps are slow.
Carrie Ann said it seemed like she never comes together in form, like to complete a sentence and compared to the Wah Wah of Charlie Brown.
Len said she was neat and precise but strolled.

She did dance to “Don’t You Forget About Me”. Kind of a weird dress for that.
So??? Is it Goodbye Kate? Hard for me to tell by the comments that I have been reading at different sites.

I think the popularity vote will save Kate another week. If it was just about the dancing, she probably should be the next one to go. But I give her credit for trying.
The dress made no sense for the song choice. I didn’t think Kate was as bad as the judges said, however she did move really slow, I wish she would just loosen up!
I’m not sure if Kate will make it past this week. The other dancers are doing really well IMO & Kate is still lacking, not really making great strides. Although I’d love to see Kate advance, the majority of my votes will be going to Nicole, Jake & Niecy ( I just love her!).

I’m hoping Kate’s fanbase is bigger than Jake’s and will keep her on another week. Every other week, I have thought that she would be gone. Sorry, Jake, but I’ve only seen him on The Soup and like Kate much better.

I got home just in time to see Kate dance. I thought she was a bit better again this week. She a slow dancer, though. She looked cute. Anyway, I got all the votes in on five AT&T cell phones, the landline and 5 different emails. And this week I didn’t accidentally vote for anyone else. I have a feeling she’ll be dancing another week again.

I thought she did good when she was arm dancing (how else to describe it)…you know dancing like our parents would. But, I didn’t think she was as bad as the judges thought. I think the dress was so incongruent with the dance, she might’ve even been feeling the lack of connection with it.

But, I think Jake will be next to leave just because his fan base isn’t as large as Kate’s (heck George Lopez has a website…. keepkate.com. Funny, tongue in cheek cute.) Btw, I read that Jake has some phone line he announced on Twitter, where you call it and he calls back? What is the purpose? Anybody else see this? If I were Vienna, I’d be furious. , she did have me laugh when she urged all the large girls to call in for her, because she’s hungry. I thought she was rather clumsy in her steps, just jumping around. (what they said Kate did when she had the same dance a few weeks back). She’s growing on me but I think her time will be up soon, too.

to the bolded part…actually you could not be more wrong. staying is totally based on popularity translated into votes. the judges votes are not nearly as important as the votes by phone/txt/online.
as to the performances:
i thought nicole was very good…much like her first performances and better than her last two.
jack and chelsea were real good!
chad…ok, evan very good!
i thought erin was cute but not as good as the first two dances she did. i thought pam did worse than her other dances…she seemed to move as slowly as kate.
i thought kate did just as well as last time but didn’t improve. i would have liked to have seen the kids but i’m glad she didn’t have them in the audience because it is what the haters expected and i love when she thwarts them! lol.
we’ll just have to wait til tomorrow to see if she stays.

I was really hoping she would have improved this week. The costume/dress was terrible! I would have wanted something inspired by that movie. The only thing that was possibley 80s for Kate was that hair bow headband – and that is a stretch.
Everyone else’s outfits seemed to match their movie better. I don’t Kate has ever seen Breakfast Club – she’s kind of young to have seen it in its hayday. Had they been dressed better and actually did a few funny moves from the movie, it could have added some excitement to what was not that exciting.
I still believe her fans will keep her in another week. I have a weak spot for Evan and Chad!

Based on what has been said on this board and others, it does appear there were phone problems on the east coast. I was able to vote via phone with no problems during the west coast time frame.
“The lovely British man.” LMAO. I wonder if they closed the lines earlier because the show ended at 9:30 p.m. instead of 10:00 p.m. tonight? Also, just FYI, remember, everyone was limited to 8 votes this week. It goes down each week as a contestant is eliminated.
My thoughts: I am probably alone, but I didn’t think Kate’s outfit was completely awful. I like her in pink. I think it makes her look very soft and pretty. Also, I am somewhat influenced that there were a few other bad outfits (Niecy’s).
I agree the whole K&T routine lacked cohesion. I am not sure what Tony’s vision was, but it just didn’t work. Kate seemed beyond exhausted. I agree with Carrie Ann, there were a couple of moments that showed some progress has been made from the earliest weeks, but it certainly was a step back from what she achieved in Week 4. Disappointing.
I thought Niecy and Chad’s scores were lower than they deserved….I have to give Jake credit. He is in the same boat as Kate – a non-performer. He is putting his all into it, however, and he did well. That said, I think he got one 8 and I didn’t really think it was an “8″ performance. “7″ yes….I am not a huge Pam fan, but I liked that she came out and toned down the sexy act and tried something different. Her footwork looked really solid to me….Erin and Evan – both excellent and fun to watch. Love them.
I am still rooting for Kate to stay, but I think I will be less disappointed this week if she goes. My heart really goes out to her. I think she is such a Type A and can’t make herself slow down and won’t think of quitting. I worry it is taking a toll on her.
Quite frankly, my choice to go home is Nicole. I haven’t warmed up to her and I still believe she doesn’t belong in this competition. There is no element of surprise – we know she will get solid 9′s or 10′s week in, week out. Every other star has had bumps in the road and is learning this as they go. That is interesting to me and entices me to root for them and want to see more.
Yeah, I was less bothered by Kate’s costume than the choreography and the entire concept. I’m not sure how much say the pro has about the movie/song they get? The whole thing was weird.
I don’t want to put too much blame on Tony (who looked down tonight), but I thought Kate’s dancing or lack thereof was only one of the problems there.
I liked the energy in Niecy’s dance but it also looked sloppy to me in places. Chad I thought could’ve gotten a little higher scores. Pam was less annoying than usual. Erin was adorable, again, some more, and I liked her dance (though Maks’ attitude is wearing on me a bit, and usually I can just say “that’s Maks being Maks”). I like Evan a lot – probably my third fave after Kate and Erin. He reminds me of Kristi Yamaguchi on the show (and I loved her on it) – not perfect right off the bat but with enough natural talent and training and discipline from a related field that you can see him continue to improve, and it’s nice to watch.
Jake both bores and annoys me. I just don’t like him. I don’t mean to be mean; it’s really just me. But I can’ t even care that he did well tonight.
Nicole is the ringer to end all ringers and though I’ve tried to let it go and just enjoy her dancing, she bugs. There’s something I don’t love about her attiude, but I may be projecting some negative stuff on her that she doesn’t deserve; I don’t know. Unlike earlier “ringers” – like Yamaguchi – she’s not starting off very good and getting better – like, starting with 8s and working her way up to 10s – she started with 10s almost the first week and she’s gotten them every week and will continue to unless something goes drastically wrong with a performance. It’s just not what I watch the show for.
I want Kate to make it through. I also want her to really be able to practice this week, free of endless tv/radio interviews and book promotion appearances, busybody in-law interference and the like. I think she needs to rest and focus. I really think she’s spread too thin, even for her, and it showed tonight.*
* I feel very self-conscious whenever I start talking about what Kate “should” do, because it reminds me too much of some other folks who think they have the right to run the lives of total strangers. I’m just speaking for myself, as a fan – this is what I’d lile to see happen.
Nicole bugs me too because she is already a professional dancer. This isn’t American Idol where people are vying for a contract. I like Erin and Niecy and Evan, but I probably won’t watch after Kate is gone.

Let me start by saying I am a huge fan of Kate and whatever she does. But it’s time. She obviously has other things on her mind, judging from her performance last night. No matter what she says, you can tell her heart is not in this DWTS thing. She appears tired, distracted, and she’s just not improving. I’m afraid that if she’s doesn’t leave soon, all the haters out there will actually have reason to bad mouth her. As with all things, know when to say when. This Kate fan is saying “when.”

I so agree with you about Nicole! I say, experienced dancers go away, even Evan who I really like but he is very experienced in choreography and routines so going in he has as much of an advantage as Nicole. Experienced dancer aside Nicole just grates.
I dismissed Niecy totally because of that Jon co-host week with her on the entertainment tabloid show but she is slowly growing on me. I thought the judges were a bit harsh on her.
I think the Lift Nazi and her Charlie Brown concept was inappropiate. She had that written note prior to K&T’s dance. I think she researches old comedy & drama shows and makes notes just to have zingers. Also, she doesn’t care for Kate IMO. Diva Bruno and GOM Len were harsh also but without the zingers.
Kate’s dress……..UGH.
Now to the meat. No 8 appearance on DWTS????? Did an all powerful someone think that thru and decide….what? Oh, I know let’s not give the Kate haters any ammunition. Good play, but the dark side will spin some conspiracy into it, just like Toastergate. By the way, Jennie, how much did you wager on Toastergate? I’m waiting for my pay, so pay up, and pay up now, by voting for K&T and sending good karma into the universe for Kate + 8.

Jennie, you’re right….the choreography wasn’t really good. I think both Kate and Tony should’ve viewed the movie first (or again), so she could get the feel of the vibe of the movie to emote.
I want her to stay because I want her to have that Len breakthrough moment where she actually lets loose and moves. She seems intimidated and I think that comes from that first week or so, she was probably labeled “the bad dancer”. You know? She needs to psychologicallly overcome that. She may even be self-concious to move her body. This is the time to throw that out and just let loose.
I think if the kids were on last night, it might’ve been too distracting for Kate. Perhaps they’ll be on tonight. Tom Bergeron was funny when he said “8 little friends were messing with Bruno’s car”.
Totally agree about Nicole. I think she is even more of a dancer than Mya was. Len held Mya to a strict standard and he should do the same with Nicole.
I hope there’s an upset/lack of votes for her and she leaves soon. She irritates me, too.
That was so painful to watch, just like her first week. She needs to be voted off. She is exhausted, what with her book appearances, DWTS rehearsals, flying the 8 kids out and doing Disneyland… she was stretched way too thin last week and IMO she got a mega douse of celebrity and she doesn’t like it so much. She needs to go home, regroup, and go out on the media book tour… Poor Tony…. I don’t think he is even trying anymore… It was like nails on a chalkboard… No more, please….
I love Kate, but I thought sheresembled a 95 yr old shuffling around the floor, bless her hear. And I think the choreography was terrible. I realize Tony may not have all that much to work with in the skill department but I thought the dance itself was just horrible. The costume was weird and I didn’t see how it related to the movie. I feel for her. She seems like shes really struggling. Dancing is just not her thing.

I want to say that I totally understand the perspective of Pat and others who say “enough is enough.” Further up, I shared my concern that Kate is a Type A and will push herself beyond what she is really capable of. I do feel for Tony. I think he is feeling a bit down about the whole thing and feels it reflects on him as a dance professional and teacher. On the Radar Online interview, he said he thought the judges would like the routine. But there were problems besides Kate’s execution of the dance, so I am a little confused where he is coming from.
The one thing that DRIVES me up the wall, however, are the hater conspiracy theories. News flash: Shannen went because nobody voted for her. Buzz and Aiden went because they were just as bad as Kate and had less fan support. Perhaps a little history in DWTS is in order. Huge suprise – the week’s worst dancer is not necessarily voted off every week. I know, STUNNING, isn’t it? However, it is kind of one of the reasons people bother to tune into the results show on Tuesday. If we knew ahead of time who would be voted off, it would make the show a little anticlimatic, wouldn’t it?

Season 2
Master P (rapper) had an overall average score of 12.5. He lasted until week 4. He surved Week 3 with a total score of 14. Giselle Fernandez (TV journalist) went home even though she got a 22 that week.
Season 7
Cloris Leachman who mugged her way through every routine lasted through five eliminations and one withdrawal. I honestly thought she would never leave. She outlasted Toni Braxton, a far superior dancer.
Season 8
The season where the two Steve’s – SteveO and Steve Wozniak, lasted on fan support, certainly not dance ability. Steve W. survived three eliminations despite receiving a score in Week 3 of 10. His average for all the dances was 13. SteveO last through five eliminations. His overall average score for all his dances? 15.8.
But what do I know? I am sure the whole thing is rigged.
i think kate had a hard time this week because she wasn’t home at all. and i don’t think that was her fault. it was jon’s custody and i think with everything else going on she just didn’t have all of her mind and energy on the dancing.
i think since she couldn’t go home (because jon was there with the kids) that she scheduled interviews, talk shows, book signings (that was said to be a last-minute thing at b&n) to fill the extra time and when she was practicing it all caught up with her. you could see in the clips of practice that she was just done. no energy.
at some point mental and emotional exhaustion do become physical exhaustion.
at this point i don’t really care if kate goes home. but i would have liked to have seen her go with the most improvement she could have had.
if jon is gone this week and kate is back home maybe she will show improvement next week if she isn’t voted off.
Oh, my, Oh, my………remember when the Apple computer Steve Wolsnickiack or whatever did that thing on the floor flubbing on his rotund belly? I’m about to wet my unawares just thinking about that. Cracked me up. I wonder if they do auditions for DWTS, no, no they probably don’t otherwise that Wojohoniki or whatever would never have appeared on the show. I must admit he was great comic relief. As I recall Gom Len’s critique once was something like, since you are one of the richest men in the world you should pay for private dance lessons and Steve Waahomatzoball’s reply was something like he was getting free private lessons on DWTS and he was a godzillionaire because he didn’t pay for anything. Oh, my poor unawares!
Why, Anya, Why did you have to remind me of that idiot Steve O. What a colossal JACKASS.
There have been many trainwrecks on DWTS, of which many of them much, much, worse than Kate. Poor Heart, she is just overwhelmed, isn’t she? I hope she gets voted through and gets one more chance to redeem herself. If she does last another week she will have my support again. I just hope that the “Lift Nazi” and the “Diva Queen” will just lighten up a minute tad. A minute tad is not asking for a lot.
Kate was hard to watch this week. I wanted her to improve but she didn’t. Good observation kimmie. She did look exhausted. Hope she survives to dance another day!

Also, it sounds like Kate had the kids for several days out in PA. Oh my! How are we supposed to obsess about Kate’s mothering and Jon’s custody time if they don’t email us their calendars each week? We could just make one up, couldn’t we?
I agree that Kate was not on her game yesterday, seemed tired, etc. Tony also seemed tired. I really like him, though. I admire him. I think their routine was slow because Kate is just not able to do more. She’s still at the stage where she is thinking through the routine, and not transitioning well. There doesn’t seem to be enough time in her schedule to “get it.”
She can’t exactly quit, can she? I am going to keep voting for her. She had an exceptionally busy week last week. I think she’ll be voted off, but if she’s back, she’s still my favorite dancer.
Kate has a new post up at Discovery.com. That Irene woman that posts nasties about Kate all over the internet but mostly on ZonTV is already spewing her hateful vile crap and trying to vilify Kate again. I don’t know this idiot but from what little I have read she really needs some attention. And sooooooo I gave her some. Felt good, too.

The particular poster you refer to is quite prolific, isn’t she? Besides her home base, I have seen her name attached to numerous comments all over the place. One wonders what her brood (of 8, I believe?) are doing when mommy is seemingly on the internet 24/7.

Anya, Master P had to have been the worst of all time! I remember he was there to fill in for his son, Lil’ Romeo, who was supposed to do the show but was injured. Master P just shuffled. Never moved, never smiled, never emoted. He always wore his own shoes because they were his brand and he was just hawking them.
Yeah, Master P is most definitely the worst contestant of all time.

Hi everyone! Interesting to hear about Master P. I have never watched dwts before. All the whiners talking about the show being rigged reminds me off little kids who accuse each other of cheating when the game isn’t going their way. They ignore popularity votes are part of this contest.

She was very sad and had some tears. Tony gave her nice kudos.
Kate said she was honored and had a wonderful teacher. She says she can’t wait to watch the other dancers.
She thanked her fans for believing in her more probably more than she believed in herself. She was pretty choked up. The other dancers looked sad for her. She did the sign “I love you” to her kids.
The kids weren’t on the show tonight either.
I’m sad/glad…..sad to see her leave, but happy she can now relax a little. She’s a great gal! I think people are finally seeing her for who she really is. A lot of people (her co stars etc.) have come out and said nice things about her……. the truth of who she is. Congratulations Kate ….you really did win!
I have the same feelings as you, Susan. I think this was a great thing for Kate and her family.
she was very gracious and i think she did herself proud. i give her much credit and i hope that the people she has worked with on dwts stay friends with her.
Yes, I was hoping Kate’s fans had more pull than Jake’s. That was a nice farewell. Classy and sad. I’m also glad Kate did this . I thought it was a positive activity for her after the divorce. In addition to the children, she has to make a new life for herself too. I think the strain of book promotion and having to relive her divorce all over again was a lot to carry in addition to this challenge and was catching up with her She looked so tired in the clips last night. I’m sorry to see her go.
She gave a very gracious interview at the end. She complimented everyone she met. tony was teh consummate gentleman. I agree that it was on balance a great mover for her after the divorce and scandal of last year. Kudos to Kate.
So what if she can’t dance that well? I have a secret…neither can I!

I think now more doors are opened for her. She is now free to do a lot more freelance work and will be able to do more for Entertainment Tonight. Who knows, maybe now she can be the insider backstage for that show and those like it. She’d be great at that!
I hope she goes to the spa tomorrow and just relaxes. She needs that!

Don’t the couples voted off go on Kimmel? I thought I saw a commercial today that told me that. I also remember reading that Shannon skipped it when she was voted off. I will be watching to see if Kate’s on and what she has to say. Theresa, I agree. She should relax and pamper herself tomorrow.
I have to say I am a little bit surprised. I guess there are more Jake/Chad, etc. fans than I was aware. Good for them. I was going to vote for Kate until the end, but I can’t complain that the lowest scorer went home either. And I agree with others that this has opened doors for Kate.
Another plus – I hadn’t given Tony enough attention in the past, but he is now my favorite male professional. I have been very impressed by him – both as a dancer and a human being thrown into Kate Gosselin tabloid/blog craziness.
I think there might have been a little Kate over-exposure last week. Taking a little bit of time off and then doing some short book signing trips before her TLC shows start is not a bad plan. I will look forward to seeing her back for the DWTS final, however.

Ann, I am so glad you are going to continue to watch DWTS. I still plan to do a show thread (maybe moving to Entertainment) next week.
First question – now that Kate is gone, who are you rooting for? I am an Erin fan, but I am open to others as well.
It will be a different experience (less stressful?) watching DTWS next week.

I will definitely keep watching DWTS – I was a fan of the show before, after all. I think it’ll feel a little flat now, but I also think I’ll be less anxious on Monday nights!
Definitely rooting for Erin; after that, probably Evan. I think Evan has a decent chance – both to make it to the end and to win if he does. I think he’s got a more appealing personality than Nicole, and those voters who aren’t crazy about “ringers” will be more likely to vote for him (though as a figure skater he’d be consider a semi-ringer any other season, I think).
I’m taping Kate and Tony on Jimmy Kimmel and will watch it tomorrow. I hope to see Tony in some group dances, etc. as the season progresses – I’ve really come to adore him.
I enjoyed their appearnce on Jimmy Kimmel. I just love Jimmy Kimmel, period. Tony was good.
I still find it weird that Kate was voted off. Just wondering this…did anybody vote for somebody else and got the same “your time zone” closed that we experienced with Kate? I know conspiracy theory.
Kudos to Kate! Being the underdog is never easy in any circumstance but Kate handled everything hurled at her with grace and poise, even the tears. Kudos to Tony also for sticking up for our girl.
So who to vote for now????? Underdog Niecy or Erin, Erin or Niecy, Niecy or Erin, Niecy, Niecy,……………..no Erin. Ok Anya, I’ll go with Erin but can I have just one vote for Niecy? I missed all but the very end and I’m what I think is called ambivalent about her leaving the show. She did look exhausted and she isn’t really a physical person, but I just wanted her to continue to confound the Khaters. But I don’t want her hurt either, so there you are. All in all she did OK and her leaving did make me cry.

I will be voting for Erin in the future as she really seems to be a grounded, sweet and genuine young lady. It does make me sad that Kate is gone, but I’m happy that now she is free to relax and take on other jobs that will give her more time with her babies. Life is SO very short and hopefully Jon will back off somewhat with his legal antics.

Ok, I just need to throw “my two cents” into the ring…I just finished watching Kate and Tony’s interview on GMA from this morning…(thank goodness for the DVR
) I have to say that I was a bit disappointed with some of the questions that Robin Roberts seemed to be throwing at Kate this morning. 
I was especially taken aback when Robin asked Tony a question about whether or not it was difficult to deal with Kate’s custody issues while teaching her how to dance. Tony replied something along these lines of depending on Kate’s mood swings, he had to “wear several different hats” to take care of “which Kate showed up that hour.” I found that totally inappropriate for him to say and I was proud of Kate because she quickly said, “Yeah, I urged him not to say that because I don’t want people to get the wrong idea that I’m mentally unstable.”
I don’t know….maybe I was just in a wierd mood today, but I just wish these reporters, etc. would stop focusing on the things that we know (and the interviewers know) the GWOPpers love to hear (re: drama,etc) and give her just a little bit of a break today. She’s had a tough week…there’s only so much that a person can take!
OK…off to fold laundry then pick up the kiddos at school! Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!

I’m just a SAHM of 2 sets of twin girls ages 3.3&5.3 (born on the same day 2 yrs apart). So……..now you know why I am the consumate Uber Kate fan.
Jacquelyn, I too watched GMA & it was good for Kate to stick up for herself regarding the “multiple personalities” but I didn’t take it that seriously.
Not only do the reporters focus on things that we already know- Kate does as well. She seems to be pretty repetitive w/answers even when the questions are different from the norm. She brings a lot of things back to the kids, doing things for the kids, etc.
There are two words that I wish she’d remove from her answers, “actually” & “honestly”- she says these words in nearly every answer- just my little nit pick for the day

Lindsey, 2 sets of twins, 2 years apart. I totally understand your fandom of Kate. You have all my sympathies. My first full term pregnancy was twins, and I thought the first two years were INSANE!! Twins are so much work. You are my hero, girl. Bless you. But you are also a really funny writer.

Ok ,ok,ok, enough about the twinsx2, they are mine and I’m keeping them for myself and the hubs. Actually they are taking a walk with Dad to the Baskin-Robbins for after dinner yogurt ice cream (Kate like, huh?), getting sticky, getting tired, getting bathed, and getting to bed. Whew. As I said to Anya on the BookNook, now you know why I am the ultimate Uber Kate fan.
