For a variety of reasons, I am anticipating Week Three of DWTS more than ever.
Why? Well, I guess I am intrigued by what we do know and even more intereseted in what we don’t.
What we do know. Kate and Tony will be dancing the Pasodoble. Chad Ochocinco, among possibly others, will also be doing this dance. Buzz Aldrin and Erin Andrews will be doing the Waltz . Evan Lysacek will be performing the Quickstep. The rest of the contestants? Not sure. What do you know?
Another element that we are not yet sure of is how exactly the stars will incorporate their personal stories into the dances. I have been reading a bit of the Twitter updates from both Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel. It appears their dance might touch on miscegenation laws and another timely topic – same sex marriage. Not sure where they will take this, but I am interested.
Another topic many of us are interested in – how will Tony and Kate portray Kate’s story through dance? I don’t think I am alone in being intrigued in what they do. I hope they keep it classy ( I think they will) and that Kate and Tony have fun with it. I don’t think the viewing public expects Kate to be perfect, but we would love to see her calm her nerves and actually get into the dance. I know – easy for us to say!
A reminder -please vote for your favorite(s) by phone, text and online. Don’t just assume the star(s) you favor are safe because they aren’t in the bottom three. I think some Shannen Doherty fans are kicking themselves for that mistake right now. There is nothing wrong with splitting your votes, but I am going to make a personal plea – Kate does need our votes!
Update: looks like there will be a story on Good Morning America tomorrow on Kate and the other DWTS Moms (wait, she isn’t the only one
?). We’ll post the video as soon as it is up.
Join us at 8 EST/5 PST for live discussion of Week Three of DWTS!!!

Pamela Anderson is also doing the Pasodoble. She tweeted that she felt yesterday’s earthquake while on stage practicing and thought it was her paso.
I liked that interview. All of the Moms were very articulate. I’m not a big fan of Pam Anderson, but she has a point about putting the kids first. I think that all 3 of them seem to have done that well, although admittedly, Niecy and Pam have an easier time given that they LIVE in LA.
I also enjoyed the Mom’s interview. I may not care for Pam reason for being famous (as those who don’t care for Kate’s fame), but she appeared to be a good mother to her boys. Niecy, I liked the way she spoke about the needs of teens. Like the saying goes, “bigger kids bigger problems”. It is soooo true. I didn’t believe it till it happened to me….. lol. Kate again, was Kate….. no matter what anyone says, she does what she thinks is right to support her family. She loves those kids! It was a nice interview all the way around.
I’m nervous for Kate tonight…. I’m on her side, but watching her dance makes me nervous. Sorry, but it’s true.
I liked this interview too. Great points Neicy had to say about teenagers. Very true.
Kat, I get nervous watching Kate dance, too. I’m hoping this week she doesn’t have nerves and just performs a good dance. She needs that to build up her confidence.
Kudos to Erin Andrews. Security for her is beefed up for sure. First her stalker, now this new nutjob.
As much as I’d like to see Kate advance, I think it’s more realistic that Erin will take home the disco ball trophy. I really like the chemistry with her and Maks.
There is nothing wrong with splitting your votes, but I am going to make a personal plea – Kate does need our votes!~Anya
Ita, Anya posted the link above for the voting info, but I thought I’d throw it in here too. All of my votes go to Kate, but I understand that’s not for everyone.
800-868-3410 or text to 3410. And here’s the abc link to vote.
I have such reservations for Kate’s dance tonight, but I’m crossing my fingers that she’s much more comfortable and …. well, we’ll see. She gets mega points from me for her bravery and gumption. Go Kate!
Sheryl, you’re on another thread, but I wanted to say welcome to IW. Hope to see you around.
I’m getting ready to watch. No choc cake tonight but there is some Easter candy around. However, the mood hasn’t struck me yet.
Even though I like the chemistry between Erin and Maks, my votes go to Kate. She needs them more and I do want to see her advance.
Lily, just saw on the news today that 6 ounces of chocolate a day is good for us. Supposedly, it cuts the risk of stroke and heart attack.
Okay here we gooooooooo
I have spice cake tonight. And Easter candy. I don’t know how much of the show I’ll get to see because we’re having thunderstorms and they keep interrupting. Ugh.
I saw Bruno on, I think, ET, the other day and he said dancing was hard for Kate, and that she was “very brave” for doing it.
Oh, and I hope they at least let her go at the beginning of the second hour tonight.
Kate looks stunning. Hope she dances early, too.
Theresa, The better the chocolate the better it is for you.
I had to go out and get some of the good stuff. I like Ferrer Rocher and it was a deal today.
Evan was good.
Kiki, I agree. I hope they don’t make her wait again.
Buzz looks dashing. I kept meaning to agree last week about his wife having too much work done. I was kind of shocked when I saw her.
How do you adjust to your loved one looking so different? I don’t know the woman and I find it difficult to look at her. That happens with so many people. I just don’t see the point in doing that to yourself.
I haven’t seen Kate yet. Had some internet issues with my son messing with it…. grrrrr (teenagers).
Buzz did look very dapper. I know he’s not the best either but for his age…. and he looks like he’s having so much fun.
Why oh Why do they always make Kate go last!!!!!!! Luck of the draw.
I liked the story Buzz and his partner told.
I accidentally split my votes. I clicked on Erin twice, oops! So far we have given Erin 2 votes and Kate 78. I prefer to vote before I see Kate dance, since my votes represent admiration for her bravery over the past year, not her dancing skill. I do hope she improves, though.
Oooo, Niecy looks great. I like this dance so far…
Jake was good, too.
Is Kate seriously going last? Gah!
I though Niecy’s dance was beautiful. But, why do they do their eyes so heavy w/the makeup? How can they see? Kate’s were like that before. I think they are all so much improved in their dancing . Well, Buzz is doing his best. I just like seeing him up there.
These are tough judges.
Kiki, I agree. I bet w/Buzz’s wife that she had some of it done before cosmetic surgery is what it is today. I love Dolly Parton (not so much all of her music). I always thought she was so pretty, but she doesn’t look anything like herself anymore.
After Jane Fonda’s most recent work, she looks like Carol Burnett. I love Carol, but I don’t think that’s the look she was going for.
Spotted Florence Henderson in the audience. I wish they wouldn’t pan over them so fast.
I like Aiden’s (if thats how you spell it) accent!!! And yes, it looks like Kate going last again!
Cute baby! Someone tell me again why it was okay to have his baby on for his birthday, but Kate would’ve been exploiting her kids, had they been on?
Kiki, LMAO. I am sure we can blame Kate for that poor, poor baby being exploited anyway.
I really need to move to the East Coast. This is not fair.
Pam, me too! I do miss being able to watch live and talk with you guys as we are watching together.
On the other hand, I kind of like hearing what everyone has to say before I see it.
Who hasn’t danced yet besides Kate? What are the scores looking like?
I am looking at DWTS Twitter updates too, but everyone is so negative. I prefer the spirit here so much more.
WHY do we have to wait until the end?!?!? Now I have to endure another 30 minutes of my husband teasing me about watching DWTS…
Maybe I should find something productive to do while I wait!
Ann, I just accidentally voted for Erin too! It’s funny, I was debating about giving her a vote, but I hadn’t intended necessarily to do it right then.
That’s fine. I really like Erin so much. She is my back-up favorite for sure!
Kate’s up next! Keep your fingers crossed.
Oh, YAY!! Here she is!
I have no idea what they scores were. For Kate, they brought in an acting coach. Kate was emotional and said it had been a tough year for her and it was hard for her to switch gears.
She’s almost up. She says this may be her dance if she can channel right (para). I am not assured but hopeful.
At least she’s not going after the Pussycat Doll. That would be cruel.
Well…. it was better… not great, though! The choreography was really boring!
“Super bitch from Hell” Well, it’s better than “shopping cart”.
Explain please, LOL.
Can I get a rundown on any scores that people remember? Especially Kate’s, obviously. Thanks!
5 5 5
15 for Kate.
I agree, it was boring, but she did a lot better than last week. She seemed more determined too.
It was better….. because she was acting… maybe that kept her nerves down. Still stiff, but she is getting better. She is brave putting herself out there … not sure I could do it. I have to remember she is just a “regular” mom…..how many of us could go on national TV knowing full well we couldn’t dance. I guess for the money… lol …. I might try it once.
Actually, it was a compliment! Bruno said she started out looking angry, as she was supposed to. She did seem better this week. I think she at least remembered all the steps. The choreography was boring , though. But I guess he couldn’t make it too complicated.
Kate tries hard but she is just not a graceful person or one comfortable in her own skin.
Kate tries hard but she is just not a graceful person or one comfortable in her own skin.
ITA – And that makes me think. I hope that what Kate takes away from this experience is that she learns to be comfortable in her own skin.
I hope by next week she can learn to let loose a little. I think she needs some of those meds that Pam offered last week.
Wow, I enjoyed Nicole’s dance. I went over to that Z blog when I was trying to find the scores. There’s a live link on ABC discussion board that follows it too, but it’s hard to get to that post. It’s twisted how Z keeps referring to Kate in his review, it’s all about Kate and the show being rigged. How stupid, if he used any logic he would say ABC fixed it for Nicole to win, not Kate. I remember him slamming her new book. Anyway, I didn’t get the scores, just left.
You guys who haven’t watched yet, should be sure to see their dance.
They got 23. Even though it was a great performance, they broke some rules and broke a lift. Next time (if we are all here), I’ll give the scores as they come up.
I agree, Lily. Nicole’s dance was great. I don’t really understand all of their rules, but I enjoyed watching their dance the most. Strangely, I thought Kate had improved some. I didn’t really care for the song or the dance, but I understand why she chose it. I think it was lost on the judges. She seemed to move better, but there wasn’t a lot of “dancing” involved. That has to be hard, though…killing yourself all week, and having the judges trash it.
ok…well…she pointed her toes! she knew her steps. and i liked the parts that she actually danced.
i think if she had danced the parts she walked she’d have gotten much better scores.
i voted for her on both the phones i have.
How did Erin do tonight? I really like her.
oh…i thought the last part where she ended hanging onto tony’s leg was great!
Pam,
I think Erin was great, too. I can’t remember what her score was, but she did well.
Tony should teach Cara and Mady the dances. I bet they could help her figure them out, and be more relaxed.
Well, Kate was still stiff and ungraceful, but she DID IMPROVE.
Tony kept the choreography simple. Good plan. It was boring, but she could handle it. She remembered the whole thing. She had to look angry, and she did. She looked nice standing still, but she moves so stiffly. Carrie Ann called the routine odd and I agree. Bruno gave her a compliment for channelling the “superbitch from hell” like she was supposed to. Is the middle judge Len? He said she got through it and got over her nerves. It was much better than last week, if only because Kate had less to do.
She extended her leg well and pointed her toes at the beginning, ans so that was better. i wasn’t cringing this week, because she didn’t look like she was about to throw up.
She took the criticism very well. Hurray! In the post-scores interview, Tony was a sweetheart telling her she did wonderfully. I love Tony. I voted 20 more times for Tony and Kate.
I thought she did better than last week. Totally agree with you Wendy. I also thought it was sweet how supportive Tony was.
I liked Nicole’s performance, but the story was lost on me. I only thought of the oldtime dancing movies like they pointed out with Gene Kelly, etc…but there was no story. I think she deserved Len’s harsh score.
Getting back to Kate. Didn’t like the song, but I did like the fact that she was less nervous. She did improve I thought.
Pam, Erin was great. She looks beautiful, very graceful. She danced blindfolded. Her dress is exquisite. I think Theresa is right (again.) She’s going to win.
Nicole’s dance broke rules. The older judge was miffed. He scored her low. She probably didn’t even know the rules. Oh well.
Pam, Erin did well. She got an 8 from Carrie Anne, 7 from Len, and 8 from Bruno.
Len was bored with the start and wanted more Waltz to the performance.
But Ann, I was the one who thought we’d see Jon Gosselin on DWTS, not Kate.
I think Nicole peaked early. I will say, I think Niecy did a nice job, too. (and I’m no Niecy fan).
Totally off topic…but needs to be said….GO BUTLER!!!(I love an underdog
Thanks everyone for the update on Erin
Wendy,
I agree about Butler. I needed Michigan State for my pool but now that they are out I am all for Butler
Wendy, we are rooting for Butler here too!
Butler for the championship and let’s give Kate another week to improve.
I just viewed it on line. It was ok. Not bad. I saw improvement. She is trying. The routine was cute.
LOL, I went to see which dancer was named Butler.
Wow, their dance came online fast.
At the beginning of the show, they said DWTS was the most watched show last week.
That was fun. I think Kate might last one more week. We’ll see tomorrow night.
Lily,
.
Too funny!!! I think Kate is safe for several weeks. ABC better hope she is
But Ann, I was the one who thought we’d see Jon Gosselin on DWTS, not Kate. – Theresa
Ha! I remember that. Oh, I would watch Jon give it a try, yes I would. It would be fabulous if he could make some money, too. Jon can even move athletically, assuming he gets back in shape.
I tried to find it online with no luck. Hubby watched for me and left a message. I am sure I can catch it in the morning before I go to work. I loved the ABC interview when they talked about the kids becoming teenagers, I feel Kate’s fear:) She does make me laugh. I hope she gets enough votes to stay on again!
Maybe next season we will see Jon trying his hand at dancing. Wasn’t he a soccer goalie in high school? All of the crap that has happened, I still remember how they used to laugh together and still think it’s terribly sad. And yes, Kate did point her toes this week! So she is doing exactly what she wanted, learning and challenging herself.
Wendy, I hope you are right about Kate being safe a little while longer. I have no doubt that ABC wants her to be safe too. And, no, I am not in any way suggesting they are monkeying around with the voting.
My votes went to Kate too for her bravery and willingness to be vulnerable.
I do think there was some improvement from last week. Overall, her progress has been slow, but I like that her nerves seem better under control. I still don’t think she is really letting herself “go” and that shows unfortunately. You can tell, for example, that Jake (another non performer) is much more at ease and comfortable with himself.
Some of leg moves were nicely executed. I love Carrie Ann, but I didn’t really understand her criticism. I didn’t think the routine was “odd”. It was a much easier routine than some, but I can appreciate that Tony is doing his best to showcase Kate postively.
I can’t say enough good things about Tony. He is a doll, IMO.
The good: I did think Kate did better at showing emotion, and I thought some of her individual movements (e.g. the toe pointing) were much better executed than in the past weeks.
The bad: still really clunky transitions, not even really dancing (I think the judges alluded to this). I keep thinking “maybe this next dance will work for her better” – I kind of thought the Paso Doble was more about sharp transitions (as opposed to flowing, graceful ones), and so I thought she might do better with that. But there’s just this sense of effort when she performs – you can almost see her stopping and thinking about the next steps.
I think (and hope) she’ll get another week to maybe build on whatever momentum she’s gained. The scores weren’t any better (I wish she’d gotten at least one six!), but I agree that she seems to have gotten over her nerves *a little*.
Other dancers: I enjoyed Erin, Evan (kind of warming to him) and Nicole, though Derek, and by extension Nicole, totally knew that they were doing stuff they would get in trouble for. The arrogance of that bugs me a tad.
Speaking of arrogant, still not liking Pam. I couldn’t believe it when she said her kids hadn’t even voted for her. That strikes me as really arrogant. She must’ve thought she was untouchable.
According to DialIdol, she is the top vote-getter, Aiden at the bottom. When do they start having to do two dances per week? I hope she goes before that, it’ll kill her.
I didn’t watch last night but the snippets I saw, she has improved a little. Very little, but that is a good sign. She looks a little more at ease. It is nice seeing the kids out and about again. this weekend was beautiful weather and totally unApril-like. I had to snicker at the pics of Jon and the 8 and the nanny looking like she was giving him what for. The poor man so beaten down. I think Kate put in alot of hard work and will be safe for another week. It is a given who is going to win this season so why not have fun and watch Kate improve every week. Pam Anderson needs to stop the “sexy” act and just act natural. IMO that is why she is in danger of leaving.
Okay, I think Buzz needs to take heart to the words of his buddy Neil Armstrong and take one small step for man and one giant leap for mankind off the show. Even though they got third highest, they still got the judges lowest scores.
At least Kate improved somewhat. The judges can only applaud his American legend status so much.
Next week they will get to sets of scores from the judges. One for technique and one set for creativity. This is their way of giving more power to the judges score. Kate will probably make it through this week because she has a strong voting bank, but next week could be different. I wonder what will happen to the ratings when she leaves. Should be interesting.
LOL I meant two sets of scores!
So Jon is suing for primary custody and spousal support. Wow – I guess when he ran out of 20 something girls to live off of, he decided to go after the money Kate earns. I didn’t think my opinion of the man could get any lower.
Paige, is that unbelievable or what?
I don’t know if this is a negotiation ploy or what, but I don’t believe he is going to be successful. He might get his support reduced or more money from Kate, but I can’t believe any judge in his right mind would give Jon primary custody. He wasn’t even interested in primary custody earlier this year (aka a few months ago) when they settled their divorce. His behavior for a year plus has shown a very unsettled individual. I could speculate further about what is causing this conduct, but I’d prefer to stay away from conjecture on a public message board.
I just want to be clear – I do think Jon should continue to see his children and be apart of their lives, but I think he needs to demonstrate a period of stability before shared custody is even considered.
I really feel for Kate having to spend more of her hard-earned money to fight this.
Here is the link to the article.
Jon Gosselin Goes After Kate in Court
And the results of the poll listed with the article:
Worse parent …
Jon 72%
Kate 28%
Total Votes: 14,372
Note on Poll Results
Speaking of arrogant, still not liking Pam. I couldn’t believe it when she said her kids hadn’t even voted for her. That strikes me as really arrogant. She must’ve thought she was untouchable. – Jennie
Pam Anderson needs to stop the “sexy” act and just act natural. – BMBMGoBlue
I totally agree with both of you.
I don’t want to spend too much time on the negative, but I was stunned when Pam admitted her own sons hadn’t voted. Why exactly should a fan pick up the phone then?
BMBMGoBlue – I “get” that the sexy thing is Pam’s hook. I just wish she would tone it down. Stop licking her lips every time the camera is on her. It’s just too much for me. Pam is very pretty and aging well, but in terms of attractiveness, I think Erin Andrews is heads above her.
I agree that Kate’s dance was “pedestrian”- I believe Len said that. The dance was boring & Kate didn’t do any dancing. She did appear less nervous though & I agree it’s probably because she threw in a little acting w/her routine. Kate did look very pretty in red again- I think it’s definitely her color.
I loved Erin & Maks dance. I missed Jake’s but heard it was cute.
Pam makes me nervous.
Oh, for Heaven’s Sake! He is seriously suing for primary physical custody? What a…. well, I’ll hold my tongue! I think if he was making an effort to support his family, and we weren’t hearing about how Kate’s SISTER was staying with the kids while she is in LA, I might have more sympathy for him. What a jerk. Now, I kind of wish I hadn’t voted for her so much yesterday so maybe she can go home and tell him what’s what!
Ok- I just read the article about Jon filing for primary custody. I bet Kate could absolutely strangle that man. He did nothing but whine & have a pity party for himself when he was the primary care taker while Kate was doing her book tour. He was out partying & having alleged affairs. Does he really think he can do a better job than Kate?! He just wants the $$, I feel so sorry for the Gosselin kids. Someone needs to slap some sense into Jon & the lawyers that are representing Jon through this disgust me.
Oh no, here we go again with baby Jon stomping his foot again and having a tantrum. Who is advising that man? What a mistake. Kate has seemed to have reconciled with at least part of her family which is good news for the 8. I again say that photo w/him and the nanny says it all regarding his character. Obviously he probably had done something stupid and she was chastising him. Now it is his turn to get back in the tabloids. Is there still a gag order on him? I think DWTS isn’t damaging the kids but it is Kate. I don’t understand how Kate can go out there hear all the hateful criticism coming from the media and the nasty critiques from the judges. I would roll up in a ball and cry. She will only be on another week, so give her a break.
I don’t think Jon has a chance. He is the one that was so vocal about needing his freedom. He is also the one that when he is with a woman that will support him financially doesn’t say a word about wanting custody, and stays away. Everything that he has said and done is recorded and will be evidence against him. He can’t take back all the negative he’s said on air and in print about the mother of the children he wants custody of. And of course, who is the one supporting the kids? Not King Mooch himself!
Poke, what about Pam makes you nervous? I’m asking because one of my daughters said that last night, and my husband agreed.
Well Jon’s motives seem a little clearer. He seesm to be using Kate and the kids as pawns in a game with TLC. From US Magazine:
A source close to Jon tells UsMagazine.com that he “seems genuinely upset that the kids are growing up with strangers most of the time. Even when Kate’s at the house, she has a nanny there to do all the work.”
The source also adds that “Jon is anxious to find a place of his own close to the kids so he can have a little more stability for them,” and has been house-hunting near the Wernersville house. He presently lives in a two-bedroom apartment on Manhattan’s Upper West Side that rents for $5000 a month.
In February, cable network TLC reached a settlement with Gosselin in a breach-of-contract lawsuit. He remains under contract with the network, but is forbidden from making or profiting from unauthorized public appearances.
With this latest legal action, Jon “hopes this will move TLC to pay him or at least give him permission to go out and work…and be able to afford his new home.” the source explains.
Well, Jon doesn’t even make sense. He thinks Kate is working too much on DWTS, AND he wants some of the money he is claiming harms his kids? No wonder he wished her well on Twitter. Twit.
So now we know the child support figure: $20,000/month. My goodness, he must have had a LOT of money or property to get that order.
Thanks, Paige.
I guess he isn’t interested in the NYC apartment anymore because he broke up with Hailey? I think it’s great he is looking for a place closer to the kids. He should certainly be able to find something more than decent for way under $5,000 a month. Maybe he could even afford a third or fourth bedroom for when the kids come up over.
Questions I still have — how much longer is he under contract? Also, do we really believe that TLC would prevent him from pursuing non-media work? I don’t see why they would care if Jon bought a business or pursued an IT job, as long as he isn’t out there running his mouth against them or looking to land a reality TV gig with another network.
Ann- Pam makes me nervous because she’s constantly in “character” form. I think she comes off as a little too silly & I feel a little embarrassed for her- I think that’s the nervousness I feel.
Kate makes a statement to People magazine.
“I am not willing to comment in public on the custody discussions regarding my children,” Gosselin says in a new statement. “What I will say is this: I am and always will be a mother first, but as a single working mom, I will do everything necessary to provide for my kids despite the opinions of others.”
In my opinion, if Jon’s girlfriend had not thrown him out of her house, we would not be hearing from Jon right now.
I’m interested in the contract, too. Is it still the last one they signed, or another one? And if he/the family is under contract wouldn’t they be getting paid?
As we’ve mentioned before, DWTS is, at best, only going to last for a few more weeks. When the divorce was finalized the judge would surely have known that Kate might be travelling for her work, whether for her book or any show she might have. And he still gave her primary custody. How could Jon and his attorney think he has any chance at getting custody now?
I think he’s more interested in getting custody of the household accounts. I shudder to think of how much money they will have spent on attorney and court fees before all of this is over.
-MamaP
I think he’s more interested in getting custody of the household accounts. I shudder to think of how much money they will have spent on attorney and court fees before all of this is over.-Kiki
Well said MamaP and Kiki! He was at the house and realizes how much he misses….accounts before the kids. I think Kate’s lawyers are more than well-equipped with Jon’s track record of parenting and child support, etc. that they’re certainly not going to let him win this.
When will this guy realize how much he’s hurting his children by fighting with their mother and pulling all these stupid moves? He’s just as bad as the Khaters. Seriously, the man needs psychiatric help. He goes from woman to woman and expects to live a life of luxury when he’s not working/blowing whatever money he has. How any grown man can be so immature and negligent in regards to life and his kids and his kids’ needs and mental welfare is beyond me.
Jon’s lawyer says she’s the “absentee parent”? What an idiot! Um, where has Jon been the past year? Who is providing for the kids? SHE is.
I’m glad she has good laywers. Jon’s really pulling at straws.
Thanks, Poke. I know what you mean about her being in “character.” It’s almost as if she might forget where she is and start taking her clothes off! I’m embarrassed sometimes, too. Even though I abhor the things she stands for (not her, not her real personality, just this character she plays) I have a soft spot for her. She is a decent dancer, and I think, probably a sweet person in real life.
Yes, Jon can get a home for less than $5,000/month. He can buy a nice home, a very nice home, for a lot less than that. We’ve been looking in the area, and their area is less expensive than ours. I’m still shocked that he would pull this. He really only has to keep quiet to rehabilitate his image, but he just can’t do it, can he?
I have to admit, as much a s I like Kate half of me wants her to go home now. I think she is improving but she really is not a dancer (and it shows). But, on the other hand I like that she isn’t letting all the criticism drag her down. Again, she has improved, and I gave her all of my (many) votes. I haven’t watched the show since Drew Lachey was on, and usually don’t have time to watch it this season either, but I did catch the last two dances last night and I was super annoyed by the PCD, and the grades given by the two judges were just ridiculous.
On to Jon, what in the fresh hell is he thinking? I know what the attorney is thinking ($$$$), and it appears that Jon is thinking about the same thing. I’m truly baffled. Their contract (as a family) is set to expire in the summer some time, I believe. There were options to renew in the original contract, so I don’t know what happened during the settlement, whether the options were not to be exercised as per the settlement. The poll on TMZ is up to something like 60000 votes now and still skewing heavily in favor of Kate. What a jerk, every time he hits a new low I think he won’t go any lower–and then he does.

Erin Kate, that’s how I feel. I kind of do want her to go home now, and prove how ridiculous Jon is being. I think she’s done really well to step out of her comfort zone and learn something new, and in the public eye, no less! Her babies will be incredibly proud of their Mommy, and she’s earned a little bit of money.
Jon wants primary custody because of Kate’s schedule on DWTS and she has a nanny when she is home? Like Jon doesn’t use a nanny. The entire thing is just ridiculous. I hope the judge laughs him out of court and orders him to pay Kate’s bills for the proceedings. The courts are concerned w/the day to day lives of the children, but they also know about the big picture. If anything, Kate should be applauded for making so much $s on a temporary job. Instead of carousing, she was home and also wrote a book. Jon’s jumped from one skirt to the next. I can’t get over how Jon up and moved to NY w/o a thought. I feel bad for Kate getting drug back into this, it would have been nice for her to focus on the future w/o this hindrance. It’s only been 5 mos since their divorce was final.
I agree, if he hadn’t been tossed out of his girlfriend’s place, this prob wouldn’t have happened. I don’t get why these men can’t just let their own lives self-destruct. Why do they have to drag their family down w/them.
Oh, I guess it’s only been 4 mos since the divorce was final.
I’m still shocked that he would pull this. He really only has to keep quiet to rehabilitate his image, but he just can’t do it, can he? ~Ann
Ita, I was reading earlier and wanted to chime in that I would watch Jon on DWTS. I’m right back to being creeped out by him. I still wonder about him firing that gun on the property and who really ransacked his apartment. He’s certainly not the poster boy for stability. He had his parenting responsibilities cut in half and he couldn’t even manage that. What if he had full custody and brought his parade of babes of through, that’s what he’s mostly been showing interest. Ntm, how Michael Lohan showed up that day at their home in PA. ugh. I pic Jon taking the kids to the fence when he’s low on cash. double ugh.
First two couples that are safe are: Aiden and Edyt, Erin and Maks
Thanks Lily,
I will look for your updates!
Niecy and Louis are safe.
I just got my first glimpse of Kate. It looks like she’s trying to smile this week.
Okay, here’s my take on Jon. Once again, Kate is in the spot light…. he’s jealous! Secondly, not trying to man bash here, but how many men have sued for full custody just to NOT have to pay child support. I’m sure women do it too, but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard that after they find it no fun to pay…. they want the kids. And thirdly, Jon has no job, no relationship and nothing going on so of course he wants the kids and what a perfect time to attack. I swear they’re is a decent man in there somewhere.
I’m watching…. haven’t seen Kate’s face yet. I bet they will keep her till the end as usual…… ohhh, she is smiling. That’s good. Even if she get voted off I’m sure she will say it was a great experience. I think it has been for her.
Nicole and Derek are safe.
Kate looks more relaxed.
Did they announce the bottom two couples this week?
Not yet Pam.
Pam, no this week they started out by telling the first two who were safe. I was expecting them to do it the same way as last week.
Evan and Anna
Chad and Cheryl.
Those guys are safe.
I really liked Evan and Anna’s dance. The ones left are smiling less.
Do you think the part about friends…. is a end the Kate Diva attempt? It’s a nice addition.
They are all talking about how much they like working together. It shows snippets of them all being chummy. Looks cute. It showed Kate chatting w/Pam and one of the ladies said she and Kate text all the time. I’m sorry, I don’t know who, I was trying to ignore the loud answering machine.
Pam and Damian are safe.
Oh dear.
Pamela Anderson is safe. WHo else? I missed part.
Kate, I don’t know, but I liked it. It’s hard not to feel tight when you’re all thrown together like that and working hard. Do they usually show this?
Kate’s safe.
Kate’s safe!
Buzz and Jake are bottom 2.
Oh my.
Bye-bye Buzz. I’ll miss him.
Buzz is eliminated.
He gave a nice farewell.
Kat, sorry I called you Kate. Don’t know how that happened.
Lily, it’s okay…. when my husband thinks I’m being OCD he calls me Kate…… lol.
It was Erin who texts Kate all the time. It was a cute part of the show, instead of showing everyone bickering with their dance pro.
Well I am sorry to see Buzz eliminated but I am looking forward to next week.
Whew! Kate gets one more week. Let’s keep her on long enough to buy a nice evergreen screen for that front yard so those kids can ride their bikes without their mother being criticized for it.
i think if kate doesn’t do really well next week that she should go home. i was torn too this week erin kate.
it was good that buzz went this week though.
Holy Hell!!!!
Kate Major & Michael Lohan- what!!!!

Ugh. Double ugh.
Let’s just remember these (the Lohans, the Majors, the Glassmans, etc) are the caliber of people that Jon has chosen to associate with since his separation and divorce from Kate.
There is no way he should be the primary custodial parent for these children at this time.
I’m glad that Kate made it through another week, but I don’t think I’ll vote for her next week. I just didn’t want to see her embarrassed by getting voted off right at the beginning. She can’t dance at all and so for her to keep being voted on to stay, shows she’s popular. I just want her to stay in the business and continue to make a living. I feel sorry for her though, this has to be extremely taxing and exhausting. She will never quit. I want her TLC show to begin, has anyone heard when? Also, once she’s gone from DWTS, I’ll quit watching that show.
Jon, what a creep! Hopefully, this latest bs is just to get his child support lowered.
I had to work last night but I was pretty confident Kate would be saved , I know she is a huge part of the ratings draw on DWTS. I think she has proven to the media and the networks that she does have a following, I hope somehow this will continue to open up new avenues for her.
I knew it was coming the child support and custody issues but stating someone is a absentee parent enraged me. When Kate negotiated for DWTS she made it possible to practice from home and only be gone for the least amount of time possible. I guess the double standard that it is okay for a man to travel for work but not a woman is another point.
I am not naive and maybe Kate is putting Jon thru some roadblocks on visitation. But I can understand Kate hesitation with Jon with the lifestyle he choose after the divorce. The one thing that I think Kate has tried to do provide routine and stability for the children the last 9 months. The only traveling she has done has been business related. Such a shame that this had to be announced to the media first instead of privately between the lawyers and court.
Well said Diane. If Kate has made seeing the kids a little difficult for Jon, I don’t blame her. The stunts he has pulled would prompt me to seek supervised visitation when they are w/him.
The absentee parent thing is very aggravating & the double standard part is what enrages me.
Maybe she is putting up roadblocks, but to say that someone is “absentee” when they are only gone 3ish days a week (and then, it’s only been for THREE WEEKS!) is just ridiculous. I get that it’s just a ploy, but instead of paying a lawyer, maybe he should be saving money to buy a place closer to, oh, I don’t know, HIS KIDS!!!
Given Kate’s track record, I doubt she’s putting up road-blocks for visitation. I think that’s one area where she’s shown outstanding strength. OMG, it’s so hard to be around your husband when he’s immediately w/the other woman. NTM, Deanna being at her home. On the show, Jon showed up for the first day of school and Kate was fine w/ it. Even after Kate and the kids were crushed by the paps in NY when they had to go for a photo shoot, she wanted Jon to get on their bus to say goodbye to the kids. There was a time when I was sure she was going to request supervised visitation. When Kate did request they split their time on the twin’s bd, Jon went berserk and made it a public spectacle.
If Jon hasn’t been following the agreement they already have, I doubt he has any chance of getting any additional custody time. He told Samantha in her interview w/him that their custody time was 15 days and 15 days. That was before the divorce was final. He seems to have a plenty time of when he wants it. So, I would think that the schedule is generous.
I keep reading that Kate should be able to live on the child support Jon is required to pay. If Kate lived differently and changed the cost of living for the children, then Jon’s child-support would change. Whatever their expenses are and whatever Jon pays is based on the lifestyle they agreed to for their children.
So Jon congratulated Kate back in the beginning of March on her DWTS gig (http://www.usmagazine.com/celebritynews/news/jon-gosselin-congratulates-kate-on-dwts-gig-197031_ and now is using that saying she’s an absentee parent. He probably knew all along he was going to pull something as low as this. Make him look good (up front) then pull a stupid stunt like this. Typical, immature Jon.
No wonder she’s a bundle of nervews. He’s a loose cannon and you never know what the idiot is going to do next that is overall just plain bad judgement and bad for the kids. Or, what lies he’ll star spreading next.
I thought in the last Today interview with Meredith Viera, Kate said she can’t rely on Jon for child support. Anybody remember that? I don’t remember exactly what was said, but I remember thinking if he was out buying his skank of the month expensive presents, he’d have money to pay towards the children.
The one thing Kate hasn’t done was publicly humiliate Jon. She’s never put him down, etc. She takes the high road and never goes into details on private matters.
His latest stunt is too much. Especially considering his statement at the beginning of this. He has called her an absentee parent! Her! While he has been vacationing all over the country for the past year. When is he home???? DWTS is 10 weeks. That’s it and she makes I believe- at least $200, 000. Someone has to support them. Not to mention she practices at home. He is such a wreck its one stunt after another. I know he supposedly pays 20,000/mo in support but how? His custodt claim is laughable, he really does live in his own special little world.
Didn’t he say a year or so he didn’t want to be a stay at home father? He didn’t like being home taking care of the kids yet now he wants to be and then be paid for it by spousal support!! I hope the judge looks at the case and throws Jon out of his court room and tells him to get a job. Kate’s willing to work at McDonald’s so maybe he should try too!!!
I get so tired of the rumors and lies about Kate. Here is a refreshing blog from someone who met her and the other celebrities in the hair and make-up trailer. It also indicates how much she is talking to the kids when she is not home.
http://www.monstersandcritics.com/smallscreen/news/article_1546476.php/Kate-Gosselin-is-no-diva-a-day-inside-the-makeup-trailer-at-DWTS
Thank you Paige for that article. All the negativity tends to wear you down, can’t imagine Kate dealing with it. When Jon has his turn at the house there is a nanny. See ROL pictures. The nanny is there playing w/the kids and chastising him… He! He! Oh and at one time he liked a nanny being there (Stephanie?)… Sorry that was a low blow… Another publicity stunt per Jon.. what a tool.. Please let the gag order still be in effect because I will not be able to stand the trash that will come out of his mouth. IMO Kate’s last week is next week and this lawsuit will go away because TLC will have to compensate Jon to shut him up again. Hopefully Kate will dance her heart out next week and just relax and have fun.
Loved the Monster and Critics piece, thanks for sharing that with me.
IMO, Jon is asking for the custody and spousal support because he needs a place to live (Kate has said they will not have the kids living arrangements be transient, they will come and go from the house and the kids will stay put) He has run through yet another woman, and lost his place to live. He has no work, and can’t get any more paid party gigs, without TLC approving them, so I think he’s on his uppers (as the saying goes) and needs a place to live and some pocket money. And who better to provide that, so the poor over worked thing can continue to lay around on his butt, but Kate. What a poor excuse for a man he is. In my day, a man wasn’t considered a real man unless he took care of himself and his own. The fact that Kate publicly stated that she can’t count on Jon for child support confirms my opinion that he isn’t paying any. Which is par for the course, as 75% of the divorced dads in this country don’t pay their child support. I know that my kids dad never gave me a dime and never had any consequences for it. And when the DA tried to take him to court for it, he filed a petition for full custody. He hadn’t exercised his rights to visitation for the previous five years, but if it might actually cost him some money, he’s ready to step up to the plate and be a full time Dad. It’s so predictable and cliche. Jon Gosselin is nothing but a loser, whose is apparently ready to live off any woman dumb enought to let him. UGH! UGH! and Double UGH!!!
Check this out. Saw this on one of my show prep services…
Lindsay Lohan is getting a new stepmom. Dad Michael Lohan has gotten engaged to Kate Major, the former tabloid reporter who once dated Jon Gosselin. By the way, Michael is 50, Kate is 27.
Of all the things to accuse Kate of, being late for and bitchy about hair and makeup, is one of the least believable. That’s like blowing off the spa, which we know she would never do!
I think Jon, in addition to being potentially homeless, is feeling at loose ends with no girlfriend and no job to occupy him. He has probably decided that being home with the kids wouldn’t be so bad if he doesn’t have to bring in money to do it, and gets to go out barhopping in the evenings without worrying about being married. There are probably still some coeds who would hang out with him. Although, if he’s looking for another spoiled rich girl who wants to get back at her parents, he’s probably better off in New York.
The Monsters and Critics confirms something that someone that is dating an insider told me. They think Nicole S. is telling the Kate stories. They are not true. They all know that Nicole ran the same sort of gossip when she was with the PCDs. And that Nicole and Cheryl B are mad as hell that Kate is the one that is drawing the ratings. Nicole has said out loud that she was promised she would be the big star of this season. It was just ‘inside source’ but it fits with the article so I’m thinking its true.
Paige, I really liked that link. The lady was cool and it’s refreshing to read something obviously sincere and nice about Kate.
I read Jon’s filing on TMZ. Kate’s attorney is on Radar and says the filing is flawed and just wrong about the part where Jon says he has a right to live in the guest house (all the time). His filing was kind of confusing, but I did understand the part where Jon’s visitation is to be afforded weekly. There’s been weeks Jon’s missed ever since the split. It’s a real shame. He suddenly stopped Kate’s income from J&K, all in his own interest and now this. I believe that Kate’s case as primary caregiver is open and shut, but I feel for a mom who is forced to fight for her children. It must be so frustrating for her that he wants to get paid CS when he keeps interrupting her income. Given Jon’s actions and the timing of his filing, this act seems desperate and I wonder what he is going to do when this doesn’t work? Does he even have the capacity to man up and quit acting like a low-life? I wish Jon would stop this right now and focus on changing his child support if he can’t pay it. I find it very sad for Kate and the children.
Oh yes, Ick on Lohan and Major.
Really, Ick.
Dear Anya, Pam & Teresa
I miss chatting with you all. Today I was able to really go through your site and I really love all that you have done with it..I hope you didn’t forget about me…I knew you all what seems a lifetime ago..
I hope you all are doing well. Next week will be the “hot” in the entirety of hot messes and I can’t wait..It’s gonna be great. I’m still the psycho asking anybody with a cell phone to vote for Kate.
Just wanted to say hi.
FYI..Great to have a place with spellcheck! lol
Really, I will always have a little empathy for Jon Gosselin because he has adorable kids, but he has to stop lashing out at Kate when things don’t go his way.
Thanks for the Monsters and Critics link. What a fabulous gesture this woman did, sticking up for Kate. I hope she knows to turn off comments if there are any (I forgot to check.) The haters are rabid these days. Yikes!
Caren thanks for your story. Unfortunately I’ve heard it told all too often.
Debbie who? Tell us, how many votes did you log for Kate last Monday?
Haha! Ann let me tell you how hard this beaver has worked!
I have 2 cells and my home phone, plus the computer. My neighbor has the same. So thats 8. Plus my parents 4, my cousins 3 (2 phones + 1 computer) my BFF has 2 (1 cell & 1 computer) on nights when I do my little DWTS Get-together viewing party. 19 (phones/laptops). So lets review:
On a vewing party night 36 calls/computer votes at 10 each=360 votes
On a regular night. 17×10= 170 votes Just from me……
Why do I do it..If Kate wants to get better and stay on the show, I support her 100% xoxox
Did y’all see this?

What a load of crapola!
Jon’s attorney was on Nancy Grace tonight, but I only caught the last couple of minutes. I will be watching the rerun that starts in about 1/2 hour.
I saw the re-broadcast and she really gave List, the attorney a hard time. he chewed gum and blamed everyone for Jon’s lousy custody arrangements, except Jon. One thing he said that I found interesting was that Jon’s support money is in escrow so that he can’t spend it and Kate gets it monthly. It will run out, though. One caller suggested Kate get a job as a nurse but Nancy shot that down as affording her less time with the kids. Newsflash, Kate Haters: Kate HAS a job. It’s JON who needs the job.
It’s JON who needs the job.
Well, exactly. That lawyer is barely an improvement on Heller. Where does he keep finding these guys? Is Lionel Hutz not available? Geez.
There was a lot that did not make sense to this legal layperson. IIRC, Jon knew ahead of time that Heller would not be allowed to represent him in PA proceedings. I can’t remember how that was resolved? But I don’t think Jon arrived at arbitration and was told, “Your lawyer can’t represent you here”, while Kate had four lawyers, and that’s how all this came about. At the very, very least, assuming there is some germ of truth to what this lawyer is saying (which may be giving him too much credit), one would think that Heller would be allowed to say enough to tell Jon that he needed to get the hearing continued until he got a lawyer who could represent him.*
*Again, none of this dovetails with my recollection of events, so I think the current attorney, List, is just trying to muddy the waters and hopes to generate some better PR for Jon by doing so. It never ceases to surprise me when people like List, who are supposed to be professionals, go on national TV and basically lie. I guess he figures (probably rightly) that no one is ever really going to truly pin him down on the crap he’s spewing, and if they try he’ll just talk his way out of it.
Ugh, I’m beginning to understand why people hate (some) lawyers (sorry, Erin Kate!).
Jennie, It doesn’t jive w/my recollection either. I remember Jon’s one attorney quitting and the PA attorney who “vouched” for Heller withdrew his endorsement after he found out about Heller’s shady past. Everyone knew Heller wouldn’t be able to act as his attorney in PA court.
I liked it when NG stressed the point that a working parent is not an absentee parent. (para). She said both of her parents worked long hours and wouldn’t think of them in that way.
Paige – THANK YOU! That was a great find.
Guess what? This article was based on actual people willing to be quoted with their names. None of the bs of – ”a source says…”.
So refreshing.
I never personally thought that Kate actually acted how she has been accused of acting in a professional environment. Obviously, mine is an outsider’s view, but I believe Kate tends to be guarded and is very careful with her time and who she invests emotional energy in. I actually have no problem with either of these attributes. She is a busy lady. If others feel left out or are jealous of her (per MarieS), well too bad for them.
On the Nancy Grace interview, OMG!
People calling Kate’s dancing “a train wreck” obviously didn’t see Nancy Grace wipe the floor with Jon’s new attorney Anthony “Chomp Chomp” List.
Granted, Nancy doesn’t necessarily play “fair”, but w/her tongue and the facts on her side, oh my, it was a sight to see!
Granted, Nancy doesn’t necessarily play “fair”, but w/her tongue and the facts on her side, oh my, it was a sight to see!
I could not agree more Anya! I’m very annoyed with Jon right now so I really enjoyed it.
I agree ladies Nancy interview was just spot on. I said this in a previous post when they said Jon saw a new lawyer, just how many lawyers do you need to see? Now the excuse is Jon didn’t understand the abritration? How come it is everyone else’s fault except Jon’s? I now what Hailey said about Jon being a manipulator is 100% true. They filed the custody paperwork in Berks county, so the world could see. When Kate filed for divorce she went to Montgomery county so the records would be sealed. She did it so the kids would not be subjected to media scrutiny. No wonder Kate has trust issues, she really has been thru the ringer with his crap.
Chomp-Chomp, lol. That was bad, wasn’t it?
Don’t worry Jennie, the funny thing about lawyer jokes is they are mostly true. I’m not particularly fond of those in my profession. Also, Jon did know ahead of time that his lawyer would not be allowed to practice. It was his decision to proceed without an attorney licensed in the state in which the proceedings were taking place. Kate can hardly be blamed for that, and he had every opportunity (and right) to have an attorney but he didn’t get one that was able to practice in PA. I thought Jon was an idiot then, and remains an idiot now. I have personally seen our local courts refuse continuances to find an attorney when there has been ample time and opportunity to find one, so this is my best guess as to what happened with Jon: He had a PA attorney and then found Heller, PA attorney withdrew, Heller attempted to motion in (with support from a local attorney) but was not able to because of the discipline against him in his licensing state. Jon knew full well before the arbitration that Heller would not be able to practice in the state. His continued “representation” by Heller was a conscious (and stupid) choice. This new attorney’s explanation for why Jon deserves to have the entire thing re-heard doesn’t wash.
I’m not sure why a judge would allow a reconsideration at all, given that there is not really a material change in circumstance. DWTS is temporary, by the very nature of the show. The idea that Kate uses nannies and Jon is a hands-on parent with no nannies is ridiculous, given that there were pictures just last weekend with Jon in the garage while the nanny played with the kids. Also, the suggestion that Kate is absentee when there have been weeks that Jon spent courting photogs (out at Sundance, etc.) and was clearly not back in PA at least attempting to exercise his visitation rights is just stupid.
There are two things about this story that really get to me. One is Jon’s passive-aggressive “I can’t talk to the media but I’m going to sit in my car and nod cryptically while this guy asks me questions” interview with INF (I think someone linked it above). Second, is the story where List is quoted as saying that both he and Jon voted for Kate on Monday. Given the nature of their claims that was so far and away unprofessional. I just don’t understand that kind of posturing and grandstanding. If you have a claim, and it has merit, and your attorney can argue it well, those kind of cheap attorney tricks aren’t necessary. I always think it shows the weaknesses in a case when a lawyer tries to pull those. I watched Nancy Grace and I agree with the other lawyers who stated that there were some procedural problems to be overcome, not to even mention the claims of the case. I won’t even get into my thoughts on the “working mother” attack that I think is going on, because that will open another whole can o’ worms that I could rant about for another three paragraphs. Suffice it to say that while I think this guy is more credible than Heller, it isn’t a big step up.
ErinKate, I really appreciate you weighing in. The whole issue of representation really irks me because I remember at the time there was open discussion on the blogs and in the media about the fact that Jon did not appear to have an attorney who was licensed to practice in PA. We all knew about it, but Jon didn’t?!? Very interesting that courts sometimes do tire of the nonsense and delay tactics and refuse continuances.
As for Heller vs. Chomp-Chomp, I honestly think I could open the yellow pages to the attorney page, blindfold myself, plop my finger down and the first name I happened to land on would have to be more qualified and certainly present a more professional appearance, than either of these two.
I think the only “circumstances” that have changed are Jon’s. The kids are probably able to keep the schedule they are used to, with the help of the nanny.
I wonder if there is any truth to that story of the new lawyer being a friend of Jon’s dad? You’d think if Jon knew of someone like that, even if he’s not the greatest, he’d have gone to him for help right away. Or, the guy would have contacted him. Or Jon’s family would have said, “hey, you need a real lawyer, here’s a guy dad knew”.
