Does it seem like we were just watching DWTS season premiere? Well, we might have been – ABC chose to re-run Monday’s night’s highly rated opening show on Saturday night. In catching a few minutes of it, I was struck again by the thought that Kate didn’t do as badly as some said she did. She was definitely in the second tier of dancers and the judges votes reflected that, but I think there might be something there. Time will tell.  To recap, here is how the scoring went:

Dancer/Score
Nicole /25
Evan /23
Pam /21
Erin /21
Jake /20
Chad /18
Niecy /18
Shannen /18
Kate /16
Aiden /15
Buzz /14

According to the tabloid sites, Kate left PA for CA on Saturday. It appears Sunday – her birthday – Happy Birthday Kate! – was another working day for Kate and the rest of the cast. Many of the professionals and stars tweeted that they had to do camera blocking (whatever that is!) for Tuesday night’s results show.

So what do we know? Well, everyone who danced last week gets another opportunity to dance again and show their improvement and I think that is great. Considering the amount of effort all have put into this venture, I think they deserve a minimum of two chances. Actually, I am a softy, I’d give them more than than that, but this is competition, so somebody will be voted off this week during the Tuesday night results show.

We know Kate and Tony will be doing the Jive. My understanding is that all those who did the Viennese Waltz last week will be doing the Jive and all those who did the Cha Cha will be doing the Fox Trot. Don’t lay bets on this though. It will be interesting to see the switch-up. I, for one, want to see if Pammy is capable of performing a more refined dance and also combing her hair!

A lot remains unknown – particularly how the audience votes will play into who stays or goes. Speculation is Aiden Turner – with his low judges votes and a less strong fan base, might be in serious trouble, but he has the ability to help himself on Monday.

My advice – whoever you like – be it Kate or someone else – VOTE! Remember you can call, text and vote online.

And don’t forget we have two shows this week – Monday night’s competition night and Tuesday night’s results show (with a few surprises thrown in). Both shows start at 8/7 p.m.

Please be sure to share your thoughts about the upcoming show and check in during the show for live blogging!
