Festive Holiday Drinks

’Tis the season for celebrations. Planning a Holiday party at your house? Whether it is a family gathering or a neighborhood get together, we all need to quench our thirst. I am planning to have a small get together for some friends and I have been doing a little Internet searching for a few festive and fun Holiday Drinks. I think I have found one that I would like to try.

Credit goes to Better Homes and Gardens for this recipe.

Icy Holiday Margaritas

Ingredients

* 1/2 cup frozen cranberry-raspberry juice concentrate, thawed
* 1/2 cup tequila
* 1/4 cup orange liqueur
* 3 tablespoons melon liqueur
* 5 cups ice cubes
* Light-colored corn syrup (optional)
* Multicolored coarse decorating sugar (optional)

Directions

1. In a blender combine juice concentrate, tequila, orange liqueur, and melon liqueur. Cover and blend until combined.

2. With blender running, add ice cubes, one at a time, through opening in lid, blending until slushy. If desired, dip rims of six glasses into corn syrup and then into decorating sugar placed in a shallow dish. Pour blended mixture into glasses. Makes 6 servings.

What would the holidays be like without some cider, hot chocolate, eggnog or flavorful mixed drinks. How about you? What is your favorite Holiday drink? Do you have any festive Holiday Drink recipes to share this season that will add a little fun to your gathering?

    Eggnog! It’s not the holidays at our house w/o it. I’m picky about it. There’s a local dairy that sells in the stores and it’s such a heavy cream. There’s no thickeners and it’s a light taste, not saturated. I buy it up into January when they quit selling it. I don’t add any alcohol. I would like a recipe for eggnog. The ones in my cookbooks call for raw eggs. I’m sure there’s one that must start out w/a custard base. I love that creamy egg stuff and would still love a tried recipe for a creamy rice pudding.

    W0w, that margarita recipe sounds sweet sweet.

    Lily,

    I have always been turned off to eggnog because of the whole raw egg thing.

    I make hot cocoa using the recipe off the back of the hershey’s cocoa box- simple and delicious. Its so good that no one else realizes its the Hershey recipe- they think its some difficult concoction. Shhh don’t tell.
