The let’s get together and give each other a bunch of awards to celebrate how awesome we are spectacle continued on Sunday night with the Grammy Awards. Bruce Springsteen, Kings of Leon, Taylor Swift and Stephen Colbert all won awards, so I am a happy girl. Lady Gaga and Beyonce also won multiple awards – good for them. They both had great years.

As I wasn’t going to commit three hours to actually watching the show, however, I did what any 21st century west coast girl does — I googled “Grammy Awards 2010.” I found it kind of interesting that most of the initial links that came up were about Grammy fashion (specifically faux pas) rather than award nominees and winners.

Never let it be said that I don’t have an opinion on fashion, even though the majority of my wardrobe comes from the Gap and Macy’s clearance. So here are my choices for best and worst dressed women. (Sorry. I couldn’t really muster up enough interest to rate the men. I was mostly glad when it appeared they had bothered to take a bath and run a comb through their hair before hitting the carpet.) Here is one gallery of photos (as I mentioned there are many out there!)

Best: Carrie Underwood. Elegant and so pretty. The asymmetrical straps made the dress a little edgier and less of a safe selection.carrie1 300x300 Grammy Fashion – The Delightful and the Strange

Best Runner Ups: Kathy Griffin (I want her body!) and Niecy Nash (for showing even if you have a little bit more to work with you can look gorgeous).

Worst: Britney Spears. Sigh. I am starting to worry about our Britney again.

Worst Runner-ups: Pink and Fergie. Not because they had the worst dresses (there were many more hideous concoctions, but they were worn by women I had never heard of –Nadeea???). I also didn’t bother with Lady Gaga because she is clearly trying to do something different with her fashion choices. It’s different all right…No, I chose these two because they both scowled in the pictures that were taken of them. This seems to be a perpectual “look” for Miss Pink, and I consider it a real turn-off.

What were your choices for best and worst?
