I am the worst at remembering books I’ve read so this review was very informative for me. I did enjoy the movie especially the more shallow aspects like the comedy of the characters love interests or when Ron and Harry were “high” off their potions.

Hi. I am one of the few in my circle that isn’t a big Harry Potter fan. I have never read the books.

I think (?), I have seen most of the movies with my daughter and sister, however (who are HP fans). This has been a busy summer and we haven’t seen this installment yet, but I appreciate your review.

I do like how the books and movies have adapted and grown the characters. Of course, you can’t please everyone, but I think J.K. Rowling can be proud of how her books were brought to film. That’s not always the case…

Great review! I think you did an excellent job of breaking down the movie’s strengths.

I still haven’t seen this, though I definitely want to. I’ve liked all the movies so far; even though I really like the books (a lot), I just don’t think I’m invested to the degree that some readers are, not to the point where I feel proprietary about the story.

One good thing (in a way) is that my memory is so bad at this point (for book plots, at least) – I don’t remember half of what happened in HP&tHBP. So I’ll be easily surprised by some of the plot developments! (No, I didn’t forget Dumbledore’s death. Sniff.)
