We watched the first season and enjoyed it very much. Sam, did you detest, "Save the cheerleader; save the world?" I LOVED that catch phrase. It's just so ridiculous, how could you NOT watch?

I don't think I gave up Heroes for J&K. That didn't take over my Mondays until just last fall. Igave up Heroes because they didn't save the world by saving the cheerleader. It was taking too long to resolve everything...like a soap opera. Ineed the sitcom format: one problem resolved in half an hour. Or J&K: all the drama is online.

I have never watched "Heroes", so I can't comment directly on this, but I agree with Pam in that once I have committed to a show, I try and stick it out even when it's on its way downhill.

Sometimes it's hard to tell, however. For example, I love "Curb your Enthusiasm", but there have been times I thought its quality was slipping. I didn't care for Season 4 and "The Producers" story arc, for example.

After a long hiatus, however, it's back with Season 7 and I think that it has been exceptionally hilarious this season.

From what I know of "Heroes", it sounds like a difficult show to keep both the quality and the freshness going.

For those of you that like/liked it, I hope it rebounds!

I've never seen it! I detested the previews before it ever aired and actually didnt think it would stay on the air through the first season. Man was I wrong.

I started watching Heroes after the excellent first season (which I caught up with on DVD). It seems like by the time I started watching it in real time, it had already gone downhill somewhat. I know it was affected by the writers' strike (whenever that was, almost two years ago?) - storylines were truncated and ever since then it really doesn't make sense a lot of the time. Plots and character behavior feel random and transitory.

I find watching it a bit of a chore, honestly. I don't care about Hiro, I don't care about the circus folk, I don't care about Matt freaking Parkman. I actually find the Claire storyline more interesting than some of the others, for some reason. Sylar just gets on my nerves and I'm sick of his cycling through evil/trying not to be evil/confused about whether he's evil or not. I want Adrian Pasdar back, too. (That reminds me, I find the Peter/deaf chick storyline mildly interesting. At least compared to some of the others.)

Eydie, I always liked Sylar as the doting dad. It was such a cool contrast. It was disappointing that it went right back.

I loved the first two seasons of Heroes. Man, they were good shows. They lost me in the third season. I gave it up for J&K and didn't care enough to keep it on the hulu list. I thought it was all well-acted. I liked everyone in it and all the characters.

It wouldn't be Heroes if Mohinder wasn't doing the narration. That's the build-up.
