Radar Online is reporting that Jon Gosselin will allow TLC to film his children again if the network drops its lawsuit against him.
Now Jon is ready to make a deal, RadarOnline.com has learned. He’s hoping to get TLC to drop the lawsuit by allowing them permission to film his children again.
But don’t expect the return of Jon & Kate Plus 8. One source with knowledge of the situation told RadarOnline.com that the network would NEVER take Jon back. “You can be sure that if the kids come back to TLC it will be only with Kate, not with Jon. And there’s no guarantee that will happen either.”
Jon has quite a bit of motivation to resolve this since since TLC is restricting him from making money and no longer receives a check from TLC since the show stopped filming.

I’m not surprised this story is out there, and I believe it is probably true. What WILL surprise me is if the Gosselin kids go back to filming the same sort of show as before. I think we are more likely to see a TLC show focusing on Kate with occasional updates of the kids.
Now I’ll ask what I really want to know: now that they are divorced, would Kate be able to decide for herself to let the kids participate in a show? The contract they had with TLC had a clause that allowed either parent to end filming. Is that still in effect after a divorce?
It will be fun if we can see the kids again…the Radar article mentioned the possibility of occasional specials, and that sounds good to me. The ideal scenario in my head is a successful show for Kate on her own, and maybe 4 or so specials a year focusing on the kids.
Interesting question, Ann…maybe Kate doesn’t even have to worry about a release from Jon, but I bet (in total ignorance) he still has a say, even if the old contract has expired and they’re working under a new one.

This is along my own line of thinking too. I think TLC would like to have the option to include the kids in some part of Kate’s new show.
I also saw it mentioned that they might do some occasional specials that would focus on the kids.
I doubt we will see anything like the previous show. The kids are older and a lot has happened in the interim.
Regarding whether Kate can make decisions for the kids on her own, I don’t think we know enough about the divorce settlement to say for sure, but I kind of doubt it.
If TLC takes Jon up on his offer, I think they are doing it strictly for pragmatic reasons. The cost of litigation plus the reality that Jon really has no money to give them. I have no doubt based on everything I have read, that Jon broke his contract. He may have done it based on terrible legal advice (I am looking at YOU Mark Heller), but he is a grown-up and is responsible for his choices.
is anyone really surprised at this? i think we all knew his action when he removed the kids from filming was for leverage.
hailey and kate m said he knew he was violating his contract…he was covering his rear end and the kids were a playing chip for him.
if jon is negotiating with tlc for the filming rights to the kids it shouldn’t have anything to do with the divorce settlement. i’m betting the wording in the settlement is that they are both responsible for major decisions concerning the kids and the contract with tlc will be incorporated into that so it’s legal.
that said i would love to see the kids and kate in the same kind of format…but i doubt we will.

I agree. I think this would be the smart thing for TLC to do. Filming has already stopped for the kids, they don’t need the stop/start of being filmed for their own show.

I agree. I try not to be *too* hard on Jon, but that was a low point in a year of low points for Jon. The combination of claiming that TLC was exploiting his kids while finding his own ways to exploit them (which were tackier and potentially more damaging, if you believe that he was alerting the paparazzi to photo ops in exchange for money). Whatever you think about the TLC filming, the crew was a part of the family to the kids, nothing like the paparazzi who swarm around the family when they are out and about and yell offensive questions to Kate in front of the kids. That Jon was even tangentially involved with those people turns my stomach.
It will be interesting to see if TLC will drop the case. With Radar reporting that Heller said this won’t be the last you will hear of Jon Gosselin would make anyone leary of his intentions now or in the future. With statements like that I don’t see TLC backing down on the lawsuit based on Jon & Hellers comments on TV from the summer. TLC has the money……Jon doesn’t.
Sure I would love to see updates of the children. Maybe have them filmed in the summer when they are out of school and then mini updates thru out the year but I am sure that is wishful thinking on my part.

My understanding is the contract that was signed was in effect until February 2010. So I think as of now Jon is no longer receiving a paycheck from TLC (Kate wouldn’t be either any longer for Jon and Kate plus 8 but she might have signed a new contract for her upcoming show.)

So it appear he is willing to reconsider the effect of filming on the children because he needs a paycheck. If it weren’t for the 8 kids who may be hurt, I wish TLC woul tell Jon to show it up his ass and continue the lawsuit on principle.
I agree with your last point Paige. On the one hand, I’d like to see Jon held responsible for his stupidity. On the other hand, I know the kids would like to have ther dad happy and out of trouble, every kid does. I’m hoping for the best outcome for the kids, Jon, and Kate. That would probably mean TLC dropping the suit, and Jon getting decent legal advice.
Thanks Paige, I had forgotten that their contract was up. I guess the court order still applies though about him being quiet. I wonder how that part works. He made such a mess and should have tried to settle right away. How could Heller ever make him believe he was going to win? I think that if Jon could be w/the paps and talking, he would be.

If this is what it takes for Jon to grow up and realize what his behavior has done and to try to rectify it and turn over a new leaf, than great. But, I think he still doesn’t “get it”.

Well, your “tv waching-hospital staying buddy” is back in the hospital…AGAIN. This morning, I am recovering from my 3rd surgery this week alone (UGH!) and since i’ve got my laptop up here, I decided to check on my IW friends; however, Kimmie, your sweet message asking about me touched my heart so deeply that I nearly cried. My nurse walked in just as I was reading your post and I showed it to her. You are Precious Kimmie…and special thanks to all of the other prayer warriors out there.
I don’t want to drive everyone crazy with one of my longg medical explanations about what’s going on…I really do want to comment about the Gosselin Chatter though….so if you don’t have the time or want to read about my medical and prayer requests…you can skip that and I’ll put my “Jon’s Antics” below the medical stuff.
I was admitted about three weeks ago because the cancer tests revealed that things were going haywire and also I was feeling TERRIBLE. Well, I Praise God for bringing me in when He did because had they not admitted me that day, the doctors would have never found a SERIOUS problem (FATAL if not detected and fixed) showing a collapse in my hepatic artery due to a fistula that is binding my artery with the main portal vein. They are also trying to decide if I need a much more powerful chemotherapy…however, “chemo talk” sounds like a walk in the park compared to this ticking time bomb in my chest. We shoud find out tomorrow if my body can withstand surgery to fix it or if the risks far outweigh the benefits.
*So YES!!!! I have something to say about Jon and his latest antic. No doubt, IMO, this is all about money, getting his name back out there (even last night Jimmy Kimmel commented on the lack of Gosselin Chatter in the past several weeks) and dropping the TLC suit.
Jon just gets more charming by the day, doesn’t he folks??!! ha! We NEVER see him with his kids anymore and my prayer is that in the absence of most of the public scrutiny, he will see the error of his ways and start supporting Kate in any of her endeavors along with his 8 babies will become his main focus…although that’s probably wishful thinking.
Not sure if y’all have seen this or if there’s another “link” on TLC showing Kate getting her long hair makeover. It was cute to watch her…very MUCH like the “old Kate” we knew and loved.
Well, friends, my nurses are coming in and getting things going this morning. I’m so thrilled that I don’t have a surgery to go through today and that I’m being able to eat easily…God has TRULY blessed me and now I feel like He’s blessed me by putting YOU all into my life!

Wow, those are about the worst pics I have seen of Kate on dlisted. I know it’s horrible to get caught in a freeze frame when you’re talking and your face looks all odd, it’s seems they get her a lot like that and you can tell that’s what it is and it’s obvious she’s pretty. None of the ones are dlisted are flattering. I wonder if she takes having a bad in pic in stride. I would think so after she showed her tummy to the world. Must be the gum she’s chewing
I’m still not used to seeing her w/the longer hair. She’s one of those who it makes a dramatic difference. I remember being surprised how different she looked in their wedding video w/the longer hair, so much younger and it softened her whole appearance.

Hmmm…I went to Dlisted and saw the pics and didn’t think any of them were anything bad. I just thought they were stills/freeze frames and that it’s understood not every still will be a good picture, but I really didn’t think any made her look older or really bad for that matter.
I think her hair looks great. Looks better than the longer extensions. Looks like they are at a point where they’re getting her natural hair towards the extensions so the extensions can eventually not be in.

Susan, extensions are usually glued or bonded to the existing hair. It depends upon the person’s hair texture, type, existing style.
The glue usually only lasts up to 4 months at which point the glue will start to break down & the extensions will fall off.
I think extensions *can* look good, but I think the article on Kate’s hair they said it took 20 hours to complete. I can’t imagine dealing w/that ever few months until my own hair was where I wanted it!
I am not sure how much you can trust Radar online, they quite often don’t get it right even on simple things such as claiming that Kate is out on the town with some date when in fact it was a hair dresser and not her date. However I suppose they thought that would be controversial or provocative to see her out on the town with some “mystery man” especially of a different race. It’s this kind of thing that really irritates me, if there’s no news to print we’ll invent or embellish something. Same with them breaking the story that Jon’s going to let the kids resume filming. How likely is it that a trashy gossip site like that would have any real insight into what is going on?
having said that, if they could do some specials I think that would solve everyone’s problems, more or less. Jon would get some of the cash (and could therefore pay his child support!) Kate would get to work with her kids but not with constant cameras in the home as the older girls at least are getting old enough to resent that lack of privacy in the old format. We the viewers who came to feel close to the family could see the kids once in a while, not at every potty training moment, which would suit most fans I would hope. There would be some money in it that could be pretty significant.
Jon had said something like $75,000 per episode. However maybe now that the old contract will run out Jon and Kate will be a bit smarter about a new contract – knowing that TLC was making far more than they, perhaps they could get a million dollars for four shows per year or something. A summertime trip to Austalia that had a show every night for two weeks or along those lines.
But what happened to the Kate project TLC kept hinting about? If it won’t be Kate plus 8 what will it be? Why are they still dragging the kids in as negotiating chips with the lawsuit with Jon, can’t TLC think of anything else to do with KATE who is the star here clearly and the adult who wants to work with TLC, and who is in a position (unlike the kids) to decide to work, who needs to work, etc. It seems like they are waiting to see if they get the kids or not. Move on and let’s see what else she can do, and let some specials be icing on the cake. With all the crummy reality shows on I’m sure they can find something that is better than or as good as some of what we see out there today.
Jon has proven himself to be a loose canon. Much as I might agree with the decision to take the kids off tv during the divorce and with that grueling schedule, he proved himself to be unreliable as an employee or whatever you would call it, a property. How could any other network know that he would stick to their agreement since he signed the last one with TLC and almost immediately began to deviate from the terms, and sank the show, and who would risk that happening again because he’s immature – he also seems like he might be under the influence of some unknown substance, his decisions and actions don’t make a lot of sense otherwise. Also, the way he has been portrayed in the media lately and all the things he’s been doing, I am wondering what kind of show he could ever do and who would want to put their ads on that show. I fear that whatever he does will be tacky and embarrass his children and his family. But I guess he should be given the benefit of the doubt, maybe he has grown up some in the past year, at least where it comes to things that might affect the kids… someone somehow has to support them.
I guess I am also assuming that Jon would get some of the money if the kids were on a show – and he would have to agree to them being filmed. If TLC is smart in order to make themselves look a little better as they milk these kids for everything they can, they ought to set up a contract that pays the parent/s separately from the kids so the kids do get something in their college fund for this. Kate gets a % as she is actually on the show and Jon gets something – a % that goes to the support? – or something. They appear to have joint custody and I don’t believe Kate can decide unilaterally to use the kids on a show if their dad objects for whatever reason. They do not need child advocate people getting involved and I’m sure TLC won’t want that either so the best thing is limited use of the kids with them getting paid and having a reasonable schedule, so that they are in compliance with child labor laws even though they don’t HAVE to be, apparantly. It’s always good to do more than you strictly have to, and not be looking over your shoulder for someone to start trouble.
i don’t think jon would get a percentage of any monies made from kate and the kids having a show. why in the world would he? he would have nothing to do with it. other than agreeing to the filming of the kids…and HE is the one initiating that move right now, not tlc.
i would bet however that if tlc takes jon up on his proposal they will make sure he signs a contract that is so binding he will never think he can just ignore it and take the kids off filming again.
i can’t see tlc wanting him in any of the filming they would do. aside from the trust issues i think the sponsors are putting their collective foot down on not having jon employed by them.
it was always the kids mostly who were the draw. then the dynamic between kate and jon became the draw. but i still think people are curious and feel like they know the kids and want to know what happens to them.
i think tlc has a show in the works and is keeping the suspense and questioning going for ratings. i think that’s how it works most of the time anyway.

Sadstateofaffairs, this is exactly why and how all the negative publicity swirling their breakup and divorce thrived all that time. Rag mags and tabloid tv making out something that just isn’t there. I find it ridiculous that people have to embellish just to put someone down or get any story (even if it’s totally false). I flipped thru the channels one day last week and The Insider had a picture of Kate and her extensions, not a flattering picture either, and the panel all had their claws out. Really, that was uneccessary, but, they used Kate to keep people til thru the next two breaks.
Btw, I read somewhere that Kate’s going to be co-hosting The View again next month. Maybe it’s to coincide with promotion of her new show?
I thought Kate looked pretty good in the pictures. Of course chewing gum can’t be the most flattering shot to be shown. I think I like how it was trimmed up a bit more. She is a very attractive woman and I think the new look suits her. For the most part I still stand by my statement that I don’t think TLC will let the lawsuit go on principle of how Jon behaved the last several months they have no reason to trust him. I have to say that Kate also would have trust issues at this point after Jon forced TLC to stop filming.

Kate’s legs in those photos looked very fit! She must be putting in her miles on the treadmill, for sure. I can’t imagine going out without pants much less no stockings, that petrified look on her face might have been “get me into the restaurant before I die right here on the street.” She is much prettier than those pictures show her, the gum chewing never looks good whether freeze frame or live.
I can’t get used to the longer hair either – but this latest is an improvement over when it was first done which was witchy and too long. I liked it short. She has such a cute face, why not wear the short hair if you can get away with it? it’s either that she has thinned out so much since those days that her face looks long, or that hair hanging down on both sides makes it look long, or both. I thought she looked good with short hair with the long bang – sensible but just different enough with the asymmetrical sides to it that it was also kind of young and cool looking. What’s the word? Gamine? Oh well. It would seem she is having her post-divorce identity thing. Anyone who’s been through that and has seen their husband go out with a younger woman (or three) goes through that. Finally you accept that “it’s not ME, it’s HIM!” and get back to being who you were.
I don’t know why America thinks the only way to look good is to be thin, blond and of course darkly tanned even though we know that is not healthy either. If you see an ample brunette on like Valerie Bertanelli it’s only to tell the interviewer about her weight struggles. sigh. Some day maybe we will evolve to where we notice something besides the hair and weight, imagine! There could be hundreds of interesting people out there who aren’t thin and blond.
On the up side, at least Jon is doing yoga or some kind of exercise. I can’t help it I just cannot abide a shiftless man, seeing him mooching around Sundance really bugged me. Most people I know who ski and snow board are very fit of course most people I know who do that are 13- 20 years old, mainly my nieces and nephew. But if you are hittin the slopes all the time you’d really have to be drinking and eating a lot (beer) to stay that overweight. Yoga is good but try something with some cardio to it.
i’m betting kate isn’t having any kind of identity crisis, psot divorce or no. and honestly looking at jon’s girlfriends since kate she has no reason to feel inferior even if they are younger. i don’t think she’s trying to prove anything…just be the best her she can be…and i find that commendable.
i do chew gum…and i am sure i have opened my mouth a time or two with gum in it. the point is that it doesn’t matter what kate does or doesn’t do there will be someone who dogs her about something. she seems the type t live the way she sees fit and doesn’t let the negativity get to her…at least in public. she does well at that…otherwise she’d be torn to shreds.
i think kate looks so good right now. i doubt she’ll get too thin. she doesn’t look anorexic or anything. she looks fit. like i said i love her hair like this now. i think kate has the strength of character needed to get along just fine in her new life. she knows where she’s going and is determined to get there.
i can see her going without a coat/hose just going from door to car. i do it all the time…well not hose. but if i were looking like kate is i might. lol.
I think if anything, Kate has shown her daughters how to be a strong woman of character who takes care of herself. She has shown them a wonderful example of taking care of your body and mind and spirit, no matter how tough the circumstance. She is the perfect role model for them.
