Ted Gibson, the celebrity hairstylist who has given Kate Gosselin not one, but two new looks so far in 2010, has had some very nice things to say about Kate in recent weeks. Gibson who runs salons in New York City and Washington D.C. is a frequent contributor to both the CBS Morning Show and TLC’s What Not to Wear.
The more I read about Gibson the more I like him. I especially like his philosophy regarding working with women:
“Remember, Beauty Is Individual.”

If you haven’t already seen the new look Ted created for Kate, take a look at the picture of Kate running errands with Leah and Hannah earlier this week. Looks like she was stocking up on supplies ahead of the huge storm that hit Pennsylvania.
Luckily, Jon did not have to deal with the PA storm because he was in Maui during the week. I guess I am confused at this point where his “home” is. I assume this is another vacation? If so, good for him, he’s already had more in 2010 than I have had in the last few years.
Finally, I would be remiss not to address the elephant in the room. I don’t want to speak for anyone but myself, but I have zero-zilch-nada interest in discussing Jon’s former girlfriend, HG, and her recent disgusting and classless actions and words. I gave Hailey the benefit of the doubt more than once. I wasn’t a fan, but I also tried hard not to jump to conclusions about her based on limited information. She has, unfortunately, confirmed every negative thing ever written about her, in my opinion. If I were her mother, I would be very ashamed.

I don’t understand why everyone rags on Kate because she takes care of herself. She works hard to stay fit and look nice. I say good for her.
I am happy she has been able to move on with her life.
I wish her much success with her new book.
I agree Julie Ann. Kate exudes confidence and she is making great choices right now. How far has she come style-wise? That miniskirt she had on when she was at Butter made her look very glamorous. She is so fit, and I like this new length for her hair.
I still have my fingers crossed that Jon starts making good decisions in 2010. First, he needs to work on the smoking habit, as he said to Samantha in her interview. Second, he should really try to stay out of the limelight with these girlfriends. Right or wrong (I say wrong) it looks bad for him. I assume he’s decided not to pursue a TV career after the TLC contract expires.
I think it’s good that Kate is finally paying attention to herself. I remember the 1st couple of years of the show she was a little on the frumpy side, understandable because she put the kids and their needs before herself. Who wants to bother with themselves when kids are throwing up on ya and you just want to make it through the day. The kids are bigger now and in school so now she has time to pamper herself a little. The people that are criticizing her for it are the same ones who criticized her for her frumpy look. I too wish her every success.
As for the “elephant in the room”….I didn’t even know about it and wouldn’t have because I don’t read rags like that. I googled the article to see what it was about. Crude? Yes but he brought it on himself. All the ragging on Kate that he did in the press is now coming back to bite him in the butt. This is one detail no man wants published about himself. And no woman wants her not yet divorced husband whoring around and going on national TV to tell the world, how he hates her, loves Hailey, and that the new woman is his soul mate. And that, for the kids to find out about from their classmates. It’s time for Jon Gosselin to reap what he has sown and the funny part is that Kate didn’t have to lift a finger.

I have one word for ya – JEALOUSY! I have always believed from the very beginning that all of this nastiness towards Kate has had jealousy at its core. Now of course all of those vile individuals spreading the filth at so many of those hate sites will shout from the high heavens that they are not in any way jealous of Kate, but I call b-s**t!!!!! It started with all of the free stuff the Gosselins received and then it continued on with the mocking of Kate’s looks, clothes, etc. Why is it that so many women (especially moms) out there are so jealous of others? I think Kate looks great – I say good for her now that she is out of the baby/toddler raising stage – now she can start taking care of herself again. My youngest (of 3….not 8!) is 2 1/2 and I am finding myself trying to come out of the frumpy mommy stage I’ve been in for the past couple of years! I am starting to remember what fun it was to wear something besides sweats and t-shirts! I’m not knocking anyone – I just agree with Kate in one of those old episodes when she talked about the first few years with the babies was just about SURVIVAL – she didn’t worry about her clothes, hair, etc.. I understand that completely and I only had ONE baby at a time! I often think to myself when I read comments making fun of her looks or clothes ” I wonder what the person who is sitting behind that computer writing that crap looks like?”……..I think THAT would be interesting to know!

It’s easier for those people to rag on Kate than better themselves. They would be much better individuals if they fixed what’s wrong with them (both mental and physical) before trying to make a woman who they do not even know miserable. Glad Kate doesn’t bother with those idiots. She looks wonderul.

Jealousy and judgment – I guess they come from the same place. There’s a need to tear others down in order to build oneself up. It’s kind of sad, really.
I didn’t begrudge the Gosselin family all of their trips the way some viewers did back in the day, because they were doing them as a family and I thought they were good experiences for the kids. But Jon sure does go on vacation a lot, doesn’t he? (Is it still called “vacation” when one doesn’t actually work?) It’s kind of different when it’s just him and his girlfriend du jour, and his kids are left back at home and don’t get to see him for who knows how long. It’s his life, and he can live it as he sees fit, but the gallivanting around doesn’t make me think better of him.
I don’t even know what to say about Ms. Glassman. I can’t really understand people like her who seem to completely eschew dignity in the quest for…what? Public attention? Revenge? I can only guess that she really doesn’t get how she appears to the majority of the viewing public. I’m kind of embarrassed for her.
Kate’s hair is looking better and better. Good for her! And it’s nice to see her making new friends. One of the knocks on her used to be that she never had anyone who knew her publicly defending her. I never thought it was a big deal, but it’s nice to see Ted Gibson give a different perspective on Kate. Not that it will change anyone’s opinion, but it’s still nice to see.
Remember when she wore those huge baggy-gray sweats every episode? She looks marvelous, no one can deny that. Now the kids are older she actualy has the time to look better. Remember the trip to Banana Republic when she was just starting to want to dress better- but had no idea what to put together so Jon picked everything? And now he lives in Ed Hardy. Thats pretty funny…..
Yes, ladies, Kate’s style has changed. She’s been offered make-up artists and hair stylists and stylish clothes, and I am glad she took the offers instead of shying away. She’s always been attractive. I think she’s been at her prettiest on the vowal renewal episode and on the cover of her new book. I think I like her in white!
Kate looks absolutely fabulous. I love her hair that way. It’s also less shocking than the drastic change of the instant longer locks. She’s simply a very pretty lady who takes good care of herself. Seeing the pics makes me miss seeing the kids on tv.
Anya, I too am confused as to where Jon’s home actually is. He is just drifting to good time after good time.
As for Haily, how much tackier can she get? What a rotten thing to declare to the world and to do Jon. Completely unnecessary.
It is so nice to read such glowing words about Kate and her new look:) It does seem like Ted Gibson is really having fun creating new looks on Kate and I think it is fabulous. It looks like they are creating a great bond together that hairdressers can have with thier clients.
I also wonder about where Jon’s home is at this point. Did he give up the apt in New York? I have not seen photos of him in New York since the break in incident. I am sure with the pending lawsuit that we won’t hear much from Jon. With Kate’s new book coming out and her going to the View in March, they might have made an agreement that Jon might just stay with the kids for a longer length of time in the spring and perhaps that is why he is traveling now.
Hailey Glassman picture was horrible ……….the outfit was a fashion disaster . The comments were in poor taste to say the least.
Well, I don’t know what to say or think about Ms. Glassman’s “latest antics” about Jon and his privates (that’s the only word I can think of at the moment to be honest). How low class, immature and hateful for her to be discussing such intimate details about ANY person…but again…I have to remember who we’re talking about. She’ll do absolutely ANYTHING to get some “camera time” even though she broke down on The Insider claiming to want absolute obscurity in her life. I’m sure THAT performance was manipulated as well to keep her in the news.
What is bothering me is the fact that they are linking Kate to this story too. They don’t have ANY quotes or video from Kate to back themselves up; however, this was unnecessary and sickening knowlede that I could’ve lived a lifetime without knowing. Do y’all think that Kate really DID have a part in this story or is it just more of the same of the media taking one additional thing and twisting it around to gain interest?

Changing gears COMPLETELY…thanks so much for your prayers and for your encouragement while I was in the hospital. I am SOO thrilled beyond words to report that I came home earlier this afternoon! Praise God! I still VERY weak, but through my weakness God has made me strong.
God Bless You all and have a wonderful night’s sleep…I know that I’ll sleep SO much better being in my own bed w/o nurses and docs coming in every half hour for additional tests, etc.

After I thought about Hailey and her words of description for Jon, the disgust turned into anger. Jon instantly replaced his wife w/her, she is aware that he has family w/8 little kids who have just gone through their parent’s divorce. She could show them some consideration. I didn’t think my opinion of her could sink any lower. What a warning to other men. And to think…Jon wanted to bring her home and introduce to her the children!! It’s sickening what he’s put them through. Although, I don’t hold him responsible for Hailey’s words. He was only thinking of himself. He’s been nothing but a mess since way back when he was seen w/the school teacher.
I thought it was pretty sad that Kate’s name was instantly linked. It was a “source” and originated from USmag. I’ve seen it several places since. No, I don’t think Kate had anything to do w/it. She’s held back from that type of mud-slinging all along. It would be a stupid and unnecessary thing for her to do. I do wonder that there might be a part of her feeling a little self-satisfaction since she and her bodyguard went through so much because of Jon’s accusations. Part of her must be shaking her head thinking “what did you expect?”and “serves you right”. However, I’m sure w/the kids involved she wishes Hailey would drop out of sight and for Jon to get his act together. For someone who has been crying broke for awhile, he doesn’t seem too concerned. I haven’t heard a thing about the foundation he started in his father’s name.
