Uh oh. Kate’s got a couple of tears. This could spell trouble in blog land! She wouldn’t be human if she didn’t feel worried about looking after her kids.
I have never watched this show with Dr Drew is it new?
i hope to watch this. i liked the clip i saw. just throwing this out there…i really hope to hear something good happening for kate soon…another show, another project, something wonderful!
I won’t be able to watch unless it all ends up online. I know Dr. Drew from the MTV series Teen Mom. I’m not a big fan of his, I haven’t seen his other shows. I have no idea what this show of his is supposed to be about.

I said this on the other thread; that things seem to be going well for Jon and Kate. At least, any disputes they may have, aren’t being turned into tabloid headlines. I hope Jon is doing okay after his breakup w/Ellen. He’s kept quiet and been pretty private, just like he said he wanted. I’m kind of impressed he’s finally doing it.

I’ve never watched Dr. Drew’s show. I may have to check this one out…only because I want to see how someone can get all that stuff for $5.00. LOL! I agree with Pattypie, tears spell trouble in blogland!

She’s been doing Ok for a reality star. I am sure she’s good with money and she keeps getting little jobs that earn her some money. I haven’t read her blog for awhile. Is she keeping it current?
I have never watched this Dr, Drew show, didn’t know it was on. Kate keeps earning money, taking a job here and there, so she can be home most of the time with her children. I hope Jon is doing well.

I’ve watched Dr. Drew when staying with Great Grandma. Its part of her nightly line up. I don’t believe I’ve ever watched it during the day tho.
He’s Ok. He and his wife had triplets and I think I remember him saying they hired a nurse, He said something like “They needed one adult per baby in the early days just to keep them alive”

I’m looking forward to it, though I also am not a Dr. Drew fan. I used to like him okay, but he’s become more and more of an attention whore, IMO. I don’t normally like to use that phrase, because I don’t begrudge people wanting fame; I’m not forced to watch them. But I almost prefer the “famous for nothing” Kardashian type over someone who presents themselves as an expert and a professional and then gives bad advice. I first noticed this on the “Teen Mom” reunion specials (coincidentally, I think there’s one on tonight), when his take on things often diverged quite a bit from mine. Of course he has a right to his opinion, but again, I just don’t like the fact that it has the professional weight of a doctorate behind it.
Probably not. I haven’t really enjoyed watching Kate for the past couple years. It’s just too far from what originally drew me in I guess. But I wish her all the luck in the world and I hope the children are thriving in school
I’ve only seen Dr. Drew’s show once so far, I used to really like him but I have mixed feelings now.
I will be working but have set the DVR to record. It’s on at 3pm central time for me! I have seen a few of his shows…he’s ok, always have some good thoughts and comments, suggestions for his guests!

i read kate’s blog whenever she postson it. and whenever i stop to think about it i have to be in awe of ANYBODY who can run a house, play chauffer to8 school age children, that is a job in itself. when you add kate’s cook from scratch, keep up her looks, do interviews etc to keep herself in the public eye to remain viable as being worth somebody paying her!!! just yesterday she posted about how she makes 40 lunches a week because to buy them at school would cost 200.00 a week which if bought one would need a bigger income. when i pick from watchable reality folks-i picked kate because it’s wholesome in comparison. i know my comment is wholesome but dull.!
Well, if those tears are crocodile-esque then of course she will be snarked on. Pay attention to the questions he asks her about Jon and see if you agree or disagree that she should have just politely said that things are handled nicely between them or something similar. Since what they do with the children and how they are attended to or how things are between herself & Jon should be a private matter.
Keep an open mind and see if her answers seem fair or if she provides information that seems to toss Jon under the bus. Does she keep things private, as she should?
If Dr Drew had his way, Amber of Teen Mom would be out of trouble and filming again. He ALWAYS poo-poo’d anything she did and tried to blame Amber’s ex Gary or at least intimated that he was the root of her anger. In other words, he looked for excuses for her because she was such a valuable “train wreck” that MTV (and him) know bring people to their channel to watch what stupid thing she will do next. Currently, it seems to be Janelle as the go to train wreck on that show. THAT girl is clearly Bi-Polar and manic.
I am going to ask from everyone, that we just try and have a good solid discussion on this thread. No finger pointing or asking people if they have issues with reading comprehension. Can we all give it our best shot?

i thought it was a great interview. i especially liked the shout out to milo. i think it shows compassion and empathy in kate. just a few seconds but i thought a nice thing to do.
i also thought when i was watching that while kate did a good job with coupon cabin just the fact that it is her doing it is a lot of advertising and i think they more than get their moneys worth.
i don’t mind that kate talked about jon and her and the kids. i don’t think she overstepped privacy boundaries. what i do think is that jon was/is a good dad and maybe she shouldn’t have said he’s trying to be one.
***disclaimer: BUT I THINK SHE SAID THAT IN REGARDS TO THE ABSENTEE DAD HE WAS DURING THE DIVORCE AND SUBSEQUENT FALLOUT.

Maybe it’s just that I’m watching this the day after Real Housewives of Orange County but dang – Kate Gosselin has gorgeous hair. It is a good color. She obviously cares for it. It looks so healthy. I think some of the Real Houswives might want to ask what she uses.
I didn’t see anything wrong with Kate’s interview. We already saw the part when she talks about Jon.
She knew at the time things were not good with Jon & Ellen I’m sure. She knew he was going through changes is all. I never saw her throw Jon under the dam buss.

Something ‘WRONG’ with Kate’s interview? (I had to Google Dr. Drew.) I’d not be at all surprised if HE learned much from Kate back stage. He has triplets in college. How about 6? The fact Jon is ever mentioned…well it might be b/c Jon had NO problem making an a$$ out of himself. It’s not Kate’s responsibility to rehab her ex. Jon should know by now what his role should be…& apparently he IS making strides! Tears? I have a sneaky feeling that old van was Kate’s way to facilitate Jon’s access to the children. I thought Kate seemed uncomfortable. And having him HOLD her hand for such a long time was wierd. (I bet Kate was happy to go to break.) I also think that had he asked her more interesting questions, she would have responded better. He is not a good interviewer. I think Kate could have answered the Jon questions with more compasion or at least, less of a comment.

I found nothing at all wrong with the interview…I didn’t see crocodile tears, I saw real tears from a single mom of 8 kids. Who is doing what she needs to do to raise 8 healthy, smart and loved kids. I didn’t hear anything condescending or rude to Jon either…and I re-played trying hard! Of course she isn’t going to be all “Demi Moore vs Bruce Willis” and lovey dovey! Their divorce was nasty and alot was done that none of us saw! So if she has the slightest bitterness tone…heck I don’t blame her…BUT I still didn’t hear it.
Kate looked beautiful, her eyes are stunning! And how cool for Milo for the shout out!! Kate is compassionate that is proof right there with her shout out!
Clearly people are going to only hear what they want. I think Kate would have learned by now, after all the interviews, that she really should say “no comment” or “we are good” or something along those lines. Why does she feel the need to portray her life with bits of drama from her ex husband (of 3 years now)?
Honestly, there was no reason at all for Kate to say something like “he’s working now and probably happier with himself” (when asked about Jon by Dr Drew). It’s not her place to critique Jon anymore. Plus to make sure we knew things are more peaceful between them “not because of anything SHE is doing”. THAT implies that she never did anything or had any part in discord among them.
Then to say that the kids are NOW ok to go there? There she portrays that the kids wern’t OK going over there and nobody needs to know that (assuming it’s even true) and how do you co-parent when you are making your ex husband out to be “now OK”? Please don’t say well, Jon said “this or that” since he has been relatively quiet over the last couple years. The uber fans will hear po-tato, the non fans will hear po-ta-to, but regardless of how you hear it, there were times she should have said NOTHING so there would be nothing left to interpret differently.
Why should anyone have to “interpet” anything anyway. That is the beef I have with the so-called “non-fans”. They dis-like everything about Kate but make sure to tune into every bit of conversation and read every tiny morsel of anything written about her in order to “interpret” it. This is done so they can try to prove to EVERYONE that this woman should be hated and despised. Some of them have been doing this for years and they think Kate has problems. I clicked on the DR.Drew link and it is the same people reciting the same hate filled rethoric over and over. I didn’t watch Kate yeterday,I spent the day with my lovely little granddaughter and had a beautiful day. I wonder how many “non-fans” passed up the opportunity to so something positive because they had to watch Kate in order to not miss the oppoetunity to start “interperting” every word,tear, or sigh that she had yesterday.

What I saw was Kate being embarrassed over her tears ~ they were real because she was trying so hard to control them.
Her tears came when thinking about her kids and the article she mentioned about Multiple family’s and divorce.
NICELY SAID CAROL! Why bother to listen/watch/read something about someone you don’t like? I wouldn’t spend a second trying to “interpet” ANYHING that came out of Lindsay Lohan’s mouth. Don’t like her, don’t care what she says or does. But non-fans disect every move, every word, everything Kate does. How sad.
Let me just say this about divorce. If you haven’t been through it, you have no idea how awful it is. Even amicable divorces are incredibly sad especially when children are involved. Divorce is so hard on children nobody in their right mind would do that to their children on purpose. I have been divorced for over 11 years and I still cry for my children. I feel awful I had put them through it. I feel awful that for the rest of their lives it will be Mom’s house and Dad’s house, holidays split, and all that goes with that. Then when they get married….it’s their spouse’s family, Mom’s, Dad’s it just seriously complicates their lives and someone will get left out inevitably.
Of course Kate cries when speaking of the divorce. It is a failure in anyone’s life and it will always be an incredibly sad time not only for her, but her sadness for her children. I can completely relate to the kids not being okay with going to their dad’s house. I went through the same thing. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a slam to the other parent, but it’s not a normal situation and it takes time for kids to adjust to it. Dad’s house isn’t their “home” and it feels different. Again, not a slam to Dad, just different.
Sometimes there is no other option except for divorce. But it’s the children who suffer the most and a mother/father that loves their children, would never put their kids through it if they didn’t have too. Please don’t bash Kate for crying when she talks about it. Her tears are for her kids and what they have had to go through because of it.
I am a child of divorce, it is not fun for kids. No kid likes to be shuffled between 2 homes, it’s not a great feeling for a child to process. It likely wasn’t easy for 8 kids to enjoy going to Jon’s apt, that’s ok to say, the fact of the matter is they did and do continue to go despite any feelings about it.
I watched the clips. Life here is busy for me. The non-fans realluy need to get out more, see what’s out there, where they could help a child or adult in need of a friend today. It’s Thurs chemo day with my friend, sitting for 6 hours trying to keep the cancer gals smiling is a true test of real friends. By the way Pam, “thanks”.
The drama of what she should always says, well, stuff it. She can say anything she wants! Freedom of speech applies to all, not just us. I hope Jon is doing better, maybe the drama of a gal pal was a drag on him. I always have a a little laugh, you would think Kate and Jon were the only couple to divorce in the whole world. For those that have been through it, it’s tough, but you rise above it, move on and do the best you can. Kate will continue to move on, and the haters can sit and spin till the cows come home, she doesn’t care.
I received an e-mail from a family member this am who is running a 5k for St. Judes this summer. The non fans of Kate should step up with their dollars to support a great cause instead of worrying what Kate is doing. Of course this Mom stepped right up and donated! I am proud to say we taught our children to give back and make a difference! Have a nice day ladies!
Snickers,I spent many a hour with my BFF during her battle with cancer. And you are correct ” sitting for 6 hours trying to keep the cancer gals smiling is a true test of real friends”. There were times when she was so sick, she didn’t even know I was there, but I was. I pray for peace and guidance for you and your friend during this time. BFF’s are hard to find and we want to hang on to them as long as possible. BTW: My friend is now 2 years free of the frightening C. Tell your friend that my prayers are with her and her family.

Ok…you think Kate was wrong. I think there are lots of worse things Kate COULD have said, but she didn’t. I do think Kate has flaws, all human beings do. But in my opinion, you are absolutely DEAD WRONG about it taking 2 to make things fall apart. It only takes ONE to screw up a relationship beyond repair. It wasn’t my fault my ex-husband was an alcoholic. I didnt force him to drink, or to put drinking ahead of his family. I didn’t force him to cash his check and spend most of it in the bar on Friday nights so I had nothing to pay bills with. ONE PERSON CAN KILL a relationship or marriage. Now I’m not saying that was the case with Jon and Kate. I frankly don’t care, they are divorced, it’s over, both have moved on. She should have said exactly what she wanted to say, period, end of story. She is an adult, if any of what she says impacts her kids, or Jon, only she has to answer to it, not sure why haters invest so much into what she should say.

We get it, you don’t like Kate, why is it so important that everyone else not like her? Would it impact your life or Kate’s life in any way shape or form? I think the reason Jon doesn’t say anything, no one is interested in paying for his story anymore. He had stories all over the news with all of his soul mates.

Kate didn’t say anything bad about Jon, she didn’t trash him or trash his relationships. In fact she was honest and upfront with answering Dr. Drews questions to be as tactful as possible. Some just want to see drama even if it’s not there. As with Kate speaking at Tapas & Top Hats fundraising event held by Camp Barnabas in Missouri. I am sure this will be also turned into an ugly drama in the eyes of non-fans!
I am proud of Kate for getting out there and giving back.

It appears that both Jon and Kate are in a good place in their life and moving forward. Good for the Gosselin children.
Same old Jon. I remember some of us were speculating that he would continue to sell stories for $s. He says the kids are flourishing. When Kate was on Dr. Drew, she said the kids were doing well in school. So both parents, (including the “sainted Jon”) have indicated the kids are fine.
The haters have never really paid attention to the little fact that the G kids are no longer being filmed, but now J&K are publicly getting along. Hmmm. Just makes them look more ridiculous and even more crazy to keep persecuting Kate.
Jon seems to be doing well, sounds focused.
From the way he made it sound Ellen didn’t matter much in the kids life one way or another.

Oh how I wish I could believe him. Jon has proven to be such a liar SO MANY TIMES, I just can’t put any faith in anything he says. I certainly hope it’s true, but I am seriously hesitant.

It doesn’t bother me if Jon toots his own horn. Kate was right when she said Jon needs to be built up not torn down. It only makes the kids life better.
Jon didn’t bag on Kate and Kate didn’t bag on him. Sounds like a win win to me.

I give him props for seeing his kids 4 days a week when possible.
But at the same time IMO when Jon gives a interview, he says things that are obviously blatant lies~ For example ~When he said I am running now and on a diet to being the constant in my kids life.
Yeah Coco, I get what you’re saying about Jon saying he’s running and watching his diet. That was no doubt a lie but then again maybe he did do that one day.
I still think he was saying between himself and Ellen he was the ‘constant’ in the kids life.
When did he start seeing the kids 4 days a week ? I thought it was 4 days a month.

As for Jon’s running claim it may of been 1 day.
And I see it differently when it comes to Jon’s Constant in their life statement.
I also hope for the kids sake this time Jon waits for a reasonable period of time before introducing his newest GF to his kids.

Jon should be able to stand on his own, without Kate having to do it for him. I was sorry to see he never gave Ellen any credit for helping him with the children the past two years. Same old story, it’s all about Jon. Being a constant in their lives would be more than 4 days a month. Maybe he attends school functions, but my question to him would be, what’s your “business”. Kate has stated to the public that she has had help, but Jon will never give anyone credit for helping him?
The private Jon has now made his twitter public. Wonder if the haters are going to attack him and call him a liar for changing his mind.

I agree that their recent tirades make it sound like the kids are being photographed 24/7, when any rational person would know that is absolutely not true. I think they ran out of things to complain about a long time ago, hence the redredged remarks they made two years ago. Their game plan is not working…

I hope he tells everyone one of them to leave his kids alone. He needs to start with SG. Jon and Kate have an agreement and probably signed by the court. SG is already telling Jon what to do, and he needs to tell this woof to back off.
I see Jon has done a lot of sponsored tweets. Good for him when he makes cash it helps his kids. He even replied to a person before christmas and said he was doing them to make extra cash for the holidays.

snickers, I hope you are CORRECT. I’m assuming YOU ARE! I just don’t think Jon understands ‘custody’ vs. he has the children for an unscheduled visit. I believe that is EXACTLY what Kate & the 8 would like. No way do I believe either Kate or Jon would start messing w. what children need in their lives…structure during the school year.
I do agree. It’s wonderful that Jon is busy w. his ‘businesses’. One might assume that he is working out of his home. IF he has some serious backing from various companies…GREAT! He has many a hurdle to leap if he thinks his wanting a private life can now be separated from the thrill of being ‘verified’. (Hmmm…why did it take 3 yrs. for him…& Kate entered verified?)

Mike Heller! What a huge mistake for Jon to jump into posting this on Twitter. (Back to boozing w. the lowlife?) Did someone say that Ellen did not like the fact Jon was interested in FAME? (Curious that Jon still has Ellen’s brother listed.) Surely someone is creative enough to connect enough dots to write about this tangled web that’s been going on for 2 yrs. I don’t think Ms. LaFair is out of the mix.
I don’t remember hearing it like that HB. It was said Ellen didn’t like the media attention that came with being with Jon but I found that hard to believe after seeing her on the cover of some rag on her blog saying “LQQK at MEEEEE”
I’m wondering if breaking it off with Ellen was part of his move to see if there’s any fame out there for him to reach for.

Well Jon is lying when he said ~ I always made sure that I am the constant in their life ~ regarding his children.
I give him props for being in their life now but to say it has been constant is not true.
BTW I thought he already gave his last interview.

Well that’s my opinion of jon.
He’s alreadt thanked SG for following him,she is one of the biggest Kate bashers on the net. He has not changed too much if he is still friendly with her.
He hasn’t changed at all if he’s back to associating with Hellers.
How was Jon a constant in his kids life when he was in New York living with Hailey or in Utah living with Morgan ?
And I do give Jon props for moving near his children and being with them 4 days a month when possible.

I don’t know a lot about Dr. Drew, the few times I’ve seen snippets of things he’s said he didn’t seem to be hard-hitting with his statements, they were more ‘fluff’ comments, IMO…that said, I also think the fact that he has multiples makes it easier for him to relate to Kate’s position as a mom of HOMs. I did appreciate that he seemed genuinely kind toward Kate and wasn’t snarky/fake toward her like those people on “The View”!
TPCarra, “Cindy”, et al, I still can’t figure out for the life of me why folks in your position against anything Kate says or does claim constantly you don’t give a flip about Kate or what she does, you all just wanted her to get the kids out of the spotlight and ‘get a ‘real’ job’ providing for them (which she is doing undeniably), yet you all can quote her chapter and verse on interviews, articles, etc.? Weird. I don’t particularly care for say, “Toddlers & Tiaras”, never watch it after seeing what it was about, yet I don’t research each and every parent, child, article, interview, etc. so I can go to supportive websites, boards, etc. to blast those people I don’t watch or ‘care’ about…would REALLY love to see Dr. Drew, Dr. Phil, etc. analyze the behavior of people who DO act that way especially toward Kate, holding her to higher, unreachable by any human being, standards! That would be fascinating to me!
The interview with Dr. Drew was fine, no ‘crocodile tears’, I have also read the research about the divorce rate of parents with multiples/HOMs being so high, and it IS scary to think about if you are in a similar situation…obviously for Kate that was one of her worst fears ever that came true, and it still crushes her when she thinks about how her kids suffered from the divorce. It is great to hear that the current GFF is now gone (the one that actively encouraged haters to make hateful comments about the Gosselin kids, no respect for her from me honestly) and the kids have their dad’s COMPLETE attention for the first time ever since the divorce. So good to hear he is finally stepping up to the plate concerning them (are they STILL sleeping on the floor though? That really bothers me, after all this time they should have cots or something at least, IMO, if not, never mind!) and I hope the day will come when he will want to spend more time with them other than the court required 4 days or so a month (of course there’s holidays/special occasions of course)…sounds like things have really settled down A LOT for everyone concerned, the kids have adapted, the parents have adapted and life goes on.
When Kate gave the big shout out to Milo I started choking up, knowing how much it will mean to Milo. :*) So very kind of Kate to do that! She has been accused by many of only doing things to earn $$$—seems like that shout out was simply an act of human kindness toward someone having a hard time in life right now…also called COMPASSION. Kind of ruins that hater meme of “Kate doesn’t care about anyone else in this life, including her kids”, doesn’t it? :*)
I would love to see another in-depth interview with Kate with much more time…the interview with Dr. Drew had a minimal amount of serious questions (and when she finally started relaxing and wanted to talk more he cut her off mid-sentence about the coffee maker) but that I think was due to time constraints on the show…there’s a lot of questions I’d love to ask both parents off the record, just sitting around drinking coffee/tea, BUT there’s a lot of stuff I’m sure both would like to leave in the past as they both continue to move more confidently into the future. The kids are what is most important. Kate didn’t ‘throw Jon under the bus”, LOL, by commenting about him. I wish those who hate her would get past the point where they become inflamed simply when she says the word “Jon”, LOL. Divorced people *gasp* are sometimes snarky about each other but like others have said, Kate wasn’t in this particular interview (and truthfully, she hasn’t in any other interview I’ve read or seen, IMO).
re: Jon’s twitter account going public–he said that twitter wouldn’t verify him for three years? (That sounds weird to me) and now it has and for some reason he can go public now…also he mentioned that EVERYONE is blocked until he approves their ‘membership’ on his following list, so I don’t believe it’s anything personal for those of you who can’t ‘get in’. I’m sure I’m blocked as a big supporter of Kate’s, though, LOL. Not gonna lose sleep over it, I’m pretty sure.
Oh, and I am LOVING his smack downs of people who have said nasty, ugly things about his kids…good for him for taking them to task!! LOL!

@121 Isn’t that what most of us moms do? if we have a blog or facebook we post pictures of our kids, and tweet about them? brag about them? Kate is no different than the rest of us in that way. Guess we all exploit our own children, well many of us do.
Many celebrities do the same thing sadly it seems only Kate reeps the attention from the “child advocates” (cough cough!)…what is their stance on The Jones?
