Kate Gosselin was on The Jimmy Kimmel show last night to talk about her upcoming appearance on DWTS. She will also be on Good Morning America today to announce who her partner will be. Watch the videos below.

It’s so nice to see her talking about something other than Jon and the divorce- it must be refreshing for her! I really look forward to seeing her on this show. It seems insane that Nicole from The Pussy Cat Dolls is on- that group puts as much emphasis on dancing as singing, and they look like pros. She seemed so relaxed in this interview. It looks like she is moving into a new- and happier season of life and I am thrilled for her.

Gotta wonder what Jon thinks when he sees her….I often think back to all of the times on the show when he made comments how he missed her long blond hair…..hmmmmm…great post-divorce look for her!
I thought she looked relaxed too! I wondered how she would do the show/ be with the kids, so this sounds like a great compromise.
Not a big fan of that hair do (don’t). I think it looks like a wig. I have so much trouble getting someone to properly do my hair. Yesterday I got it highlighted and trimmed and it took 2-1/2 hours. Is that normal? Then….while blowing dry, she asked if I used a flatiron because of the “damage” on top. I don’t use a flatiron and now I notice that I think she left the foils in too long (40 minutes?) and that damaged my hair because of the little hairs poking out all over the top.
So then I wait four months and go somewhere else–all the time. Anyone got hair tips?

I feel you. It takes that long for me too. I used to be in the stylist switch trap but in the past year I’ve found someone that understands what I want, how my hair works and listens to me. I was tired of walking away disappointed. I hope you find someone that gets you and your hair needs. I was very blunt with her the first time I went to her bc I was so sick of the stylist doing as they pleased with my head- and if I hadn’t felt she understood what I wanted, I would have left.
I actually like this look for Kate. I thought it was too long orignally but I think the new length flatters her and looks more relaistic. Jon has to look at her and feel twinges of regret.

I was blunt about other problems I’ve had. I mentioned all them and how I’ve had trouble. These are all new ones, so I wonder what I’m doing wrong. Before, people would leave about 1/2 inch of old growth showing on the hair area directly above my ear–just didn’t get the color on close enough. Plus, when I said ash blond highlights, I felt like I had brownish base hair with gray streaks.
This lady was sooooo nice and said ash blond looks gray as highlights and showed me colorswatches. I thought all was good. But I can’t believe how long it took to put highlights on just below chin length hair. And I waited a looooonnng time while she did someone else’s highlights. So I do think it got fried and broken. Plus there is a long line along my part on the top of my head.
Advice from any hair dressers? I really like the color and the lady tried hard and I want to go back to the same person. But it’s also a half hour drive. Should I call her, drive there, go somewhere else AGAIN (which i don’t want to do..)
Anyway, I won’t turn this post into something else. Just wanted some advice.

I’m not digging this hair style, but do like it better than her signature short hairstyle. I guess we’ll be seeing a lot of hairstyles and makeup on her when DWTS starts.

I love her dress but I am struggling getting use to seeing her in these types of clothes just because her look was more “Mommy” before & now she’s definitely showing a more sexy Kate.
I also don’t really care for her hair, it seems a little “too done” or something???? I do like it longer but maybe just not so curly.

Took a quick look over at the hate site. Poor GWOP’ers are having conniptions. I love that they can’t hide their true agenda with Kate, not that the kids are being “exploited” but that their true motives is pure unadulterated hate. I don’t care how bad she dances gonna vote for her as many times as allowed. lol
I agree jan. They are so horrible. they seem to forget that Pam Anderson is always naked, has been in Playboy for years now, and also has children who will be left alone. They are so obsessed with Kate and the skimpy outfits she will have to wear. I saw a picture of Anderson at the NY Fashion Week last week and she had on a very small scarf of some sort covering her body. Yuck, she is walking disease and ugly to boot, but they still go after Kate. Don’t these kids have a father named Jon who is not gainfully employed who can stay home with them?
This woman is drop dead gorgeous. Jon must/should be kicking himself now – he’s lost a beautiful, sexy, MATURE woman. What a mistake.

watched the gma clip and i think she’s got a grip on the practicing and i wish her well. i’ve never watched dwts. won’t know how to vote….but i hope she wins.
I’m happy that her choice (at least for now) doesn’t involve her kids being on TV. I don’t really like her but I’ve watched every season of DWTS so I’m going to have to make that choice to watch or not.
I’m not sure how much money the stars receive? It never occurred to me before that people were chosing to go on DWTS as an income. Do you think it’s more for publicity for her upcoming reality show or is it a good chunk of money?
I’ve heard different figures on the money. One thing I heard was $200K guaranteed, more if you win (obviously) and more if you make it farther into the competition (I would guess). So it’s nothing to sneeze at.
I would also imagine that TLC would like her out there in the public eye as promotion for whatever show they have planned for her.
I don’t get the whole “she’s not a star” complaint. No one is saying that about the Bachelor dude, are they? He’s in the same boat as her (reality show star), and is far, far less famous than Kate Gosselin is. He doesn’t have any particular accomplishments that Kate doesn’t have, as far as I know. DWTS has always been a mixture of minor celebs, reality show folks, athletes and odd ducks. Off the top of my head, I’d venture to guess that in the entire history of the show, Kate has probably been on the cover of People magazine as much or more than any other contestant. That’s not the only litmus test of celebrity, of course, but it’s not a bad one.

Also I think the dress was flattering because it had vertical striping and dark on either side.That is a good look if you want to make yourself look longer and more narrow. Very thinning and draws your eye to the middle of the dress where the light colored material is. Smart. Maybe she has a stylist now.
Jennie, I guess some don’t think Kate is as big a star as Kim Kardaszhion, whose only claim to fame prior to DWTS was denying a sex tape existed showing her boyfriend urinating on her. Of course it did exist and she shared in the profit.It was her ticket to stardom. And don’t get me started with the rest of the family starting with the trashy mom with the black eye makeup. Disgusting to even put Kate or anyone else on the same stage as her.

Yes odd and interesting…and none of our business!
I would think all the participants are making the same initial amount. It appears they are able to negotiate additions to the contract. For example, DWTS is apparently paying for Tony to travel and rehearse with Kate in PA.
I am not sure what will make some folks happy short of Kate returning to obscurity to clean toilets at the bus station, but there is every reason for her to take this gig:
–a substantial paycheck for a short-term job–anywhere from several weeks to a few months work.
–exposure for her new TLC show and the book she has coming out.
I am sure she will miss her kids when she is in Los Angeles, but I am confident she knows what she is doing and is doing it for the right reasons.
There is a clearly a double standard regarding Kate.
Pamela Anderson is everything they claim to abhor about Kate – a mother who dresses provactively, has posed in Playboy, and is leaving her kids to do this. Yet, not one word of criticism directed her way.
The self-proclaimed child advocates said all they wanted was the kids off television. DWTS is something that doesn’t involve the kids on television and yet they are screaming about ABC maybe showing the kids watching. Yet, of course, we don’t hear one word about other celebrities kids being shown.
GWOPPERS want Kate to fail miserably because they hate her. And because their hatred of Kate is all consuming, they truly don’t give a darn about those kids. Objectively speaking, it is in the best interest of the Gosselin kids for Kate to make enough money to keep them in their home and in the excellent private school they are in. It is clearly in the best interest of the Gosselin kids to have a happy, fulfilled mother. Anyone who truly cares about the kids can see that.
Who wants to bet that the “source” saying Jon is furious about Kate being on DWTS because it will take her away from the kids and she is more interested in her own celebrity than the kids is none other than backstabbing Aunt Jody?
I think Kate was charming and funny with Jimmy Kimmel. I don’t particularly care for the dress but it was appropriate for the interview. I love the new softer, longer hair, the old angular cut looked too hard and wasn’t very feminine. Now she looks like a star. I do hope she is able to find a way to achieve the career she wants, I’ll support her in any thing she attempts.
I had twins and had the excess sagging skin on my tummy too, which was so ugly and awful, so Ihad a tummy tuck. which really did amazing things for my self esteem. Does anyone think I’m a bad mom? Seriously? And anyway, Haileys mom was a fan of the show and really understood how demoralizing it was for Kate to have that problem, so she talked her plastic surgeon husband to do the tummy tuck pro bono. For your ignorant GWoPers out there, pro bono means free. Of course, it did give his practice exposure on national TV, so he did gets some payback out of the deal. Another win/win IMO. So, why do they object to her having had a tuck? I wish I could understand their reasoning, but I just can’t figure it out. It’s just so irrational.

Probably the same “source” who claimed that Kate used to complain about Jon’s “underendowment”. Funny, whoever it was didn’t remember her saying that until Hailey complained about it.
Jon has no room to complain about her being away from the kids. He’s probably happy about it, because she’s earning some good money so he doesn’t have to worry about the house payments being made. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the audience, in a show of family support for the kids, and to help repair his image.
Caren, just thank God that you don’t understand their reasoning for bashing Kate for the reasons they do. That means you don’t have the hatred eating you up like they do. Every time they throw a poisonous word out about her they show what they are truly made of and it’s not healthy.
Many of the DWTS contestants had kids when they were competing and some even had their kids on the show watching as they rehearsed, i.e Kristie Yamaguchi, Jennie Garth, just to name 2. Both Donnie and Marie Osmond participated and had small kids. These hypocrites that spout off about Kate never said a word about that. Yes I believe Aunt Jodie will not be able to contain her jealousy and will be spouting off. If she were smart she would stay out of the limelight because the more she exposes herself to the press the more likely that she will become interesting enough for the tabloids to go after her and expose her dark secrets. Once that door is open she will regret ever getting involved.
Jan, I appreciate your kind words. It’s one of the things that I find most baffling, the utterly hypocritical sniping. There was another woman on a couple of seasons ago, I can’t remember her name but her professional moniker was Scary Spice. Her baby was itty bitty and they never said word one about her. There’s a lot of mention about jealousy and it may be spot on. But it seems so much darker to me. Malevolent and quite evil. And so much about being Christian, when they totally ignore the gospel. I’ll admit I do get quite angry sometimes at the awful things they write. This kind of vitriol is just in such bad taste from grown women. It’s just so white trash, Jerry Springer.
Now I have to admit some ignorance. Who is Aunt Jody? A what does she have to do with Kate?
Caren, Aunt Jodie is Kate’s sister-in-law, married to Kate’s brother Kevin. They were both on the show the first 2 seasons, she is the red head. She and Kate had a falling out and so she helped her sister Julie start a blog dogging Kate. On the show she portrayed herself as sweet Aunt Jodie who just loved the children. After the falling out she tried to portray herself on the blogs and T.V interviews as someone who wanted the kids off the show because they were being exploited. She never voiced these concerns before the falling out. She also exposed her hypocritical side because she announced to the world that Kate was having an affair with her body guard (which isn’t true but was a repeat of what Jon told her to justify his cheating). If she truly was concerned about the kids she would never have maligned their mother so publicly. Kate’s brother Kevin was just as bad but one could tell he was just following Jodie’s lead. He would often look over at her during the interviews to see if she approved of what he just said….lol. I do hope that he and Kate can have a reconciliation but think it may be too late after what he went along with.
I remember Scary Spice. Her name is Mel Brown. I really liked her, never saw a Paso danced as well as she and Max did. I think she got ripped off coming in 2nd, really thought she would win.
I agree that there is nothing Christian about what these women are saying about Kate. They are very dark and malevolent. I stay away from there website except to peak at their topics of conversation. I can’t read all of what they say because I feel like I need a shower after reading what they post….lol. Aunt Jodie claims to be Christian. I wonder if her pastor had anything to say to her because she has been quiet lately.
Thank you for filling me in . I didn’t watch the show in the begining, so wasn’t aware of this aspect. How sad that Kate is estranged from her brother. Family is so important. I’m excited about DWTS. If nothing else, she’ll get a great workout.
Now I remember Mel Brown. She was good and I think I voted for her. I’m going to root for Kate, but I honestly do vote for the celebrity that I think dances the best, because that’s what the competition is all about. I am considering throwing my support to Kate, just to foil the GWOPers, but haven’t decided yet. Having had twins I know a littleof what dealing with multiples is all about and I love the humor and good will Kate shows. She’s not afraid to laugh at herself and she is willing to try to do things that scare her. I give her kudos for huts and drive. Hope all goes well for her in all her endeavors.
I stay away from GWOP because it is so bad for my spiritual life. I just don’t like to let tht sort of thing into my conciousness. I think I need to do some praying so I can clear my anger and quiet my sol.
I watched J&K+8 from the beginning, and I’ll admit I sometimes cringed at some of the interaction between Jon and Kate. But appreciated that it was a real family dealing with real life and the everyday stress of raising children. I’m not perfect, and neither is Kate I think that is why I’m rooting for her. Caren I also find the level of hate that is directed towards this woman unbelievable and very sad! She is trying to earn a living to support her children, what can critics possibly find wrong in that? I’d love to see the smear tactic’s have the opposite intended affect…and increase support for the Gosselins. I’ve never been a DWTS fan, but I just may watch to see how she does.
Cincymom, I feel for you. I once made that mistake of “ash” for my color. It’s gray (washed out) in my hair too. It was quite a shock. I had to change it right away. I’d ask in some local chat rooms and maybe someone can give you a reference for someone good. Even if it’s a drive, it would be worth it to find the right stylist and someone good w/color.
Has anyone seen the publicity pics of Kate and Tony for DWTS? Kate again looks fab, a little heavy on the makeup though. I guess that’s done in the style of the dress?

The publicity pictures for DWTS look awesome can’t wait till the season begins. Sounds like Jon is try to make amends in 2010 with wishing her luck. Good for him! Hopefully this will begin the healing process between them. It can only benefit the children. Hopefully Kate will be able to head back home in the next few days, so the K-haters will calm down a bit (that’s wishful thinking)

I liked the interview with her dance partner. i never watched so I don’t know the dance pros, but this guy seems very nice, very likeable.
I like Kate’s hair this length and I love the curls. I don’t really like the color- it’s too blond, but she does look great. Her pink/black dress is beautiful; I LOVE it. I also wonder what Jon must be thinking. I am happy he is supportive of the DWTS gig for her. It’s refreshing for them to be publicly on the same page!
I heard she’ll make great money. I expect her to lose early on. She looks stiff in the publicity photos. I believe her that she is uncoordinated and not a dancer. I am impressed with anyone who can take criticism like Kate Gosselin does. She has steely nerves and is driven, and I truly don’t think a lust for fame drives her. I think she is after lifelong financial security for her children and access to good coffee. Nothing more.

Horrible people, horrible, hateful comments from vicious stupid women who complain how difficult it is to raise female teenagers as they sit on the internet trashing females all day. KamiH, One of the worst aspects of Z on TV is that is condoned by what I have always considered to be a well-respected newspaper, The Baltimore Sun. (I don’t respect them much anymore, though!) Their entertainment editor has turned this blog over to a pack of ignorant, hateful women who, if you can believe it, make GWOP look like kindergarten. They make up lie after lie after lie. I’m surprised that libel suits have not been charged! I admire Kate for ignoring these idiots!

Yes, I have decided that it is absolutely nothing but a waste of time going over to GWOP and even devote a few minutes to their hateful and ugly posts. In fact, I was quite bummed when, for some reason, I couldn’t get access to our IW site last week just because this IS the only place to go for the FACTS of what’s going on.
For now, I am out of the hospital and closely monitoring the situation with the artery in my liver that is so dangerous and in such dire shape. I just want to thank everyone again so much for remembering me and for your kind words and prayers. I’ve learned that sometimes the only choice that we are given is to walk on faith and faith alone. And even though that can be the scariest place to get to…it is often the best place to be!
I am living EACH day to the absolute fullest, so watching Kate pour so much into her day is both refreshing and beautiful to watch!
