It appears Kate Gosselin received hair extensions to start fresh for the New Year. “It’s good to have hair again,” the 34-year-old reality TV mom tells People. “I never thought I’d have short hair for as long as I did. I feel like this is a fresh start, a fresh me, a fresh life… I’ve got it. I am now Kate Clean Slate.”
“I’m rebuilding,” Kate adds. “There’s no option for this not to be a good year. Now I get to start over with a new self and new goals.”

I thought her long hair was beautiful when she first got married. I wonder if she will have the patience to wait for it to grow back and to take care of it. Seems her short hair was much easier and won’t be surprised if she goes back to it soon.
Eh. Maybe it’s just the way the picture looks but it looks fake. But hey…she’s beautiful no matter what she does!
Yeah, that picture doesn’t look too good, and I don’t like that shade of blonde. But I like the idea of her with longer hair.
I don’t like the cover picture. It looks too young for her. Maybe it needs to be highlighted instead of one color, or maybe it needs some curl. I actually liked the shorter hair better, but maybe that was what I was use to seeing.

I think she can pull it off. It’s just so different. I have to say it’s also an “eat your heart out” pic to the ex. I bet she’s glad she can start moving forward now that the divorce is over.
Wow – she’s like the poster child for bad hair extensions!! She probably looks good with long hair, but that looks awful!! Did Lindsay Lohan’s hair-stylist get ahold of her. Ye-ouch!

IMO, hair extensions rarely look good, but growing out short hair is difficult too. I think this is a fine as a transition look. She is a pretty woman and can pull off most looks within reason….

I think it’s great she’s just starting fresh, but I also wish that “fresh” would mean leaving the kids updates out of her interviews, I just think they deserve some privacy after all the hoopla surrounding them.
I think that she does look very pretty, but would prefer to see her with natural hair and without the extentions. That said, if this is what makes her feel better about herself after all she’s been through in the past year, then she needs to continue with “Clean Slate Kate,” take care of her kids and move on from Jon the drama king!!haha
I think it looks great! I don’t think the pictures do justice to the work that was done but I think she deserves to make her self feel good. I am sure the girls are just going to love mom having long hair
Not a big fan of the hair extensions, but it is her head and if she is happy,I guess that’s all that matters.
Not my decision on how she wears her hair….. but I am glad to see her embracing her new start and the removal of dead weight. Regardless of how you see Kate, you have to admire a woman who can bounce back, remove herself from the drama and move on. Go Kate!

Kate’s new hair was the lead story on Entertainment Tonight. And tomorrow they’re going to have Hailey Glassman on, commenting on the People article. I guess she picked the right time to unveil her new look, if they couldn’t find anything more “important” to report on. She does look really good in the pictures they showed.

I think it’s so startling, because at first glance I think it’s a pic of Britney Spears and then it’s KATE face in there which is such a surprise. Anyone else think it was Britney when they first saw it?

They led w/Kate’s new doo on E news too. The pics they showed are fabulous. I’m going to buy People just for this. They also show some pics of the process. Kate’s dubbed herself “Clean Slate Kate”. I like it.
They gave some info from the article. The kids will be getting in-home counseling. In regards to Jon being there for the holidays, Kate said Christmas was tense and uncomfortable.

Interesting — Popeater.com has a poll up too about Kate’s hair and with 50,000+ votes, 2/3 are voting “love it.”
They have some quotes from the People interview, including the following:
On her debt: “I have a lot of debt to crawl out of. Debt that shouldn’t be there. I have a lot of anger about that. But it’s nothing that good, hard work won’t fix.”
Somehow I don’t think this is debt from twice a month visits to the nail salon and tanning. I think this is debt created largely by Jon. I like her can-do attitude, however.

I think this style makes Kate look younger. Or, maybe she’s just happier and it shows. Not a fan of extensions either, but I can see her pulling this off with her own hair. It’s the growing out part that’s a pain.
I tend to prefer longer hair but I think Kate’s extensions are a little on the long side. They don’t look that well done, either, though I think partly it’s how her hair is styled on the cover. I think a slightly more sophisticated look would be better for Kate. Regardless, she looks beautiful and happy and it sounds like she’s in a positive place. Good for her.

Ha, ha, I know! They read a quote from Hailey that was complimentary to Kate, then they showed her leafing through the magazine and said she was going to comment on the article tomorrow (today, now). I guess they bring in the viewers.
I’m not a fan of extensions, but with that said, I think she looks good. Glad to see her looking happy!
I just saw the magazine cover and she looks really nice. The computer image doesn’t do her justice. Her hair is not all one color, but blond with high and low lights. (brown, blond and red) She does talk a little about the kids getting in home counseling. She said some need it more than others but that they have all been effected by Jon not being there.

Ted Gibson, the stylist who oversaw Kate’s new look has an interview up on Radar.com. He reveals that the new look “would cost almost $7,000″ in his salons. Cue the predicable outrage from those who love to hate Kate. One would think she was taking food out of the boys mouths to fund this expenditure. First off, Gibson said “would cost” – I am pretty certain his fee ($950 haircut!!??) was dropped significantly for the free publicity. And then TLC and People probably joined in to cover the rest of the cost.
I know this makes a certain segment of the Gosselin blogosphere apoplectic, but it is a simply a business decision. Gibson gets publicity, TLC gets publicity, People sells magazines = all three make more money on the endeavor than they put out….It happens every day in the entertainment industry. Get over it.
I don’t like it, though I think I agree with Jennie that it’s the length that I don’t like (and probably the hair color–I got the Britney vibe too). I think she looks her age with short hair, but Kate has one of those faces that fits her age. I don’t know if this is making sense.
Maybe with different styles it will look better.

So, publicity for that show and Kate’s new show. I can’t believe the remarks I’ve seen at many places about Kate crying poor, and now spending the kids’ money on her hair. Does anyone actually believe she paid for it? Even if she wanted to spend that much money on herself she’s smart enough to know how bad that would look.
Last night on ET, Hailey said Kate improves with age, like fine wine (so original). And she compared her to Jenna Jameson. I think that was meant as a compliment.
Also, on ET, they showed the pics of Kate to celebs at the People’s Choice Awards. I can understand that sort of thing being annoying to (regular) non-fans. If it were someone from a reality show I didn’t watch, I’d be thinking “who the heck cares about her hair?” It was better than when they ask celebs about the latest shocking fellow celeb death or arrest. (For the record, most of them said “Oh, she got extensions!)

Ted Gibson needs a fact checker. He sat on the Early Show on Wed saying that the look would cost $1,500 in his salon in NY. Now he’s telling ROL that it would cost $7,000?
I think I read somewhere that a haircut costs $950 @ his salon. I can’t even imagine paying that for a haircut. lol

Migraine triggers can change as people age. If caffeine gave you headaches for years, you avoided it, then tried it again to see what happened, found out it didn’t give you a headache and started drinking coffee, are you a liar? A hypocrite?

Just wondering, have you ever changed your mind on anything or ever had triggers for physical problems change? I used to get stomach aches whenever I ate anything with walnuts in it; now it is no problem for me. I used to say I never wanted to get married again; having met the right guy I am doing a 180 on that issue.

I think I actually remember the “migraine” episode quite well- eek! I think it was one of those “flashback” shows about how Jon & Kate began, like old footage of their honeymoon, etc. Jon said he liked Kate’s hair longer & he likes blondes. Kate told him he should have checked the roots! And Kate did say her kept getting shorter the more kids they had. Also said it did give her migraines because it was so thick.
I’m almost embarrassed that I remember this so well!!! If only I could remember more important things- haha.
But back to the point- absolutely people change & so what if she wants longer hair now. I really don’t get why people must tear everything apart this woman or anyone for that matter says. Good grief- no one is perfect!

Kate is a very pretty woman. She has really worked hard to get back in shape. She was kind of frumpy looking in the beginning. But now…..WOW…she looks great.

I stumbled on GWOP once and was absolutely amazed. Who in the world has enough time in their day to hate someone they have never met to the extent these people do? After reading their posts I understand why Kate has a body guard. If it were me, I think I’d carry a gun. This is seriously demented, and makes no sense to me what-so-ever. This is one of the ways the Internet can be very scary. Crazies can unite and egg each other on. We’ve always had crazies, but they were isolated from each other. The Internet has certainly changed all that. Now they create chat rooms and band together. And since they try to convince people they are harmless and are only interested in the welfare of the children, they actually try to put a “greater good” spin on the vitriol they spew. How bizarre is that? Let’s hope they never find an action oriented leader. So far, they haven’t gotten physical, that I know of, but I think the potential exists, they seem very volatile to me.
