When the gladiator first popped up in 2008 I wasn’t sure. Actually I thought they looked outlandish. As with most trends, the more I see it- the more it grows on me. . .
They range from just above the ankle (my speed), to knee high. I haven’t bought any yet but I’ve seen some that look very delicate and feminine as opposed to some that look bulky. I also love the range of colors- especially the bronzes and bright hues. So are you “sold”? Have you or would you wear these?

I’m not much of a fan. They look uncomfortable (I imagine rubbing straps) and for the ones that go higher, an opportunity for fat to bulge unattractively.
That said, I could probably go for the more modest styles, like #6 above. I do love sandals – I’d wear them all year long if I could.
Would never, ever wear any of these. Give me my Crocs any day of the week.
Love 6 & 7 but the heel is too much for me- I would probably do 2 though.
I remember some of these coming around in the late 70′s or early 80′s. They had the cloth wrap-around straps and they never stayed up. #2 is kind of cute. The heel is too high, but there was time when I would have loved #1, a little shorter.

Like a lot of styles, I don’t think they would look good on me, but if I had long lean legs (I don’t) and a perpetual tan (I don’t), I would certainly consider some of the more comfortable looking ones to go along with a cute short skirt.
I agree, Samantha, it’s funny how something that looks bizarre can grown on you. Well, not pants on the ground, but that is a whole other topic!

Though I saw something today about the return of harem pants. No. Just no.
I have a pair like picture #6. However for the other styles (w/exception of the high heel), a person has to have the right body shape & legs in order to pull them off. Especially #3 & 5.
These are not shoes for ladies with bad knees. I think they are very youthful. My niece wore a variation on this theme at Easter and they were adorable. She is young and slim and has beautiful clothes with a wonderful fashion sense. If I wore these, I would just look like, well, a gladiator.

I think sometimes the more intricate a piece is, the person it looks best on is one who doesn’t even know she’s wearing it, because it’s an effortless look then. Know what I mean?

I love those sandals! And if I were young and skinny, I’d be wearing them.
Alas, I am not-so-very-young and I am not-so-very-skinny AT ALL! So I will not be wearing any Gladiator sandals, not in this lifetime.
