If you haven't read them, then I don't think you'd necessarily enjoy the movie (at least, not as much as the rest of us!) If you really love action/adventure than 2012 is definitely a not-to-be-missed one. The kind you have to see in a theater for the full effect. Disney's A Christmas Carol is a really great family movie. Pirate Radio is a quirky, weird, very British, almost independent type film (I don't know that it is, it just feels like one) with an AMAZING soundtrack and wonderful cast (Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy and a hilarious appearance by Emma Thompson!) My 13 year old son and I loved it. It got terrible reviews by "the critics" and I don't know why. The theater was packed and I'd say the average age of the audience was somewhere in the 40s and there was a lot of laughing and applause (which you don't hear DURING movies anymore.) I'm going to see The Blind Side tonite (Sandra Bullock, based on a true story) and I think that looks REALLY promising. We've got a line up of movies opening this Wednesday: The Road, Fantastic Mr. Fox and Old Dogs. And then December... my kids might not be getting much in the way of Christmas this year. I really enjoyed reading them. While at the beach I saw women of all ages reading them also. I saw the first movie on DVD with my daughter and enjoyed it. I probably wouldn't go to the theater to see it, but she called me yesterday and asked to make a movie date with me the weekend of Thanksgiving to see New Moon. I have a bet with my friend for the Twilight movie. She said the Twilight Saga:New Moon will not be mega hit and i told her it will. I bet it will became a mega hit. I do not get to the movie theater enough to see upcoming releases and with DVRs I miss quit a few commercials advertising new movie releases. There is just something about the whole experience including eating popcorn and some type of candy ( usually my choice is Red Vines.)
