it matters who I remember he was.”

I wish I could spend the day with my Dad but we are too far away to do so. I will see him later this summer. My sons and I will celebrate Father’s Day with my husband at home with a good meal and some nice gifts for him.
We had a similar thread like this a year ago and I went back to read what I wrote about my Dad.
It still pretty much sums it up for me. I have a wonderful father and I have great memories of him throughout my life and we are still creating those memories.
My husband has been the same kind of father for my sons and I am thankful for that. No one is ever perfect but they sure have tried to be.
Happy Father’s Day to all of the father’s and grandfathers out there. Hope you all have a great day!
What I wrote last year is true for me too. I am also blessed to have maried a man is a wonderful dad to our children. He made a big sacrifice for them this year by taking a job locally so they would not have to move from our home. It’s one of countless sacrifices he’s made. He is getting a bike and all the things you need to go with it. He wants to hike tomorrow with the family, and there is steak on the menu.
Ann,
Sounds like a great time. I would love it if my family all went on a hike together but they would probably look at me like I was crazy.
Steak is one of my husband’s favorite things and we will probably have that also!
Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads!!!!
For me, it is an ordinary Sunday. My Dad passed 4 years ago.
I can’t remember what I wrote last year, but my relationship with my dad wasn’t necessarily easy.
That said, there were things I admired and respected about him. He was a child of the Depression and I think that really formed who he became. I never had to live through the hard times he did. I have had it too easy probably….
Dad introduced me to musicians (Bob Dylan comes to mind) and authors that could have easily escaped my radar. I am grateful for his intellectual curiosity. I wish I had taken an interest in a few more of his hobbies (chess!).
I can’t forget sports either. I owe my appreciation of Baseball to Dad.
Love to my dad, Karl.
